The defender has 1-2 lances to defend a walled base consisting of central ecm, power supply, "back up" generators, 15-30 armed turrets( types include IS ERLL,Trio of LPPCs or single Heavy PPC,MLs,and MRM 10-20, Rocket Pod 10-20). Think Incursion with armoured gates and hardened walls( 60 points of damage to breach a gate, 40 for wall sections).

Defender victory conditions: 50% base integrity by end of 10-15 minute timer. (Timer is triggered by wall or gate breach. ) or 50-60% enemy causalties.

Attacker victory conditions: 1)51% destruction of base, or 2)Total annihilation of enemy mechs or defenses, or 51% of attacking forces alive after achieving 1 or 2.

I think more asymmetrical game modes would be awesome. This is what I was hoping for from Incursion, but didn't turn out that way.

I say yes, but only if they revamp the points system.

I also think turrets should have mixed payloads twin IS ERMLs and an SRM-6, or a trio of LPPCs and twin Rocket Pod 15-20s, or a single LPL and twin ERMLs, twin SSRM-4s and a trio of LMGs.

What do you folks think?

I think you're putting too much weaponry in those turrets. Right now the LL turrets are capable of headshotting a peeking light in 1 shot. (full armor too, I was on the receiving end of this)

Don't aim this solely at the assault and heavy crowd.

Yep that is true the fourth turret types was meant to be twin SSRM-4s and three LMGs.

I like the idea, although I think walls should be harder to breach, say 80 points per section.

How about 100 damage to breach a gate and 80 damage to breach a wall section.

Do you think this game mode too hard to complete as an attacker?

no

the dropships guns should be divided between three destructible turrets with each turret covering a 120 degree arc

so the attackers just have to destroy the turret(s).

there should also be two capturable refueling depots. the defenders would have to control the refueling depots to refuel the dropship. that would help break up the defender advantage. you could also have the dropship's guns only activate once the dropship reaches a certain fuel level.

would not be difficult to make the gamemode work. but it would have to be a faction play gamemode with respawns.

I would suggest your game mode for FP and mine for QP.

As long as the turrets don't have perfect pinpoint accuracy for headshots, I'd say it's OK.

We need another game mode and Vanquish is the answer.

A FFA mode like PUBG and Fortnite and the rest are adding would be great I think.

More on topic, base defense and upgrading and building is super popular in games but usually against NPC's it seems.

Have not played either but yes. A FFA version is very popular in online games at the moment. Extremely so.

Players get dropped in a place of their choosing on a map with no weapons or gear of any sort then have to be the only one to escape the map basically. In theory its completely balanced. I don't know more than that.

How this would work with MechWarrior Online not entirely sure, but FFA is not new to the series and has always been popular.

I figure the combination of hardened walls, heavily armed turrets, and 4-8 defenders might make a good show against 12 attackers. It may become a blood bath but at least,it would be interesting.
