3D-model is nothing like a mech that we can see on the concept-art. I'd say - they have some resemblance but they are not the same, definitely.

People actually preordered this? would love to hear a guesstimate of the total ordered :#
(in the sense of, how rare will they be for the "3 month DLC", not like the piranha ocean we saw :3)
Pgi dropped this just before WC didnt they? Just figured the brown sea would have more to complain about then "its too wide, or too tall"

DOA!
(unless quircks)
(even quircked!!! ebjag nose...)
I'm so glad i dont preorder.

I just took a look at the theorycraft....
What can this do that made y'all so anctious to have it?
GIve it an AC5 and call it the Ferrari of peeshooters...
No ofense.

I agree on the usability but actually prefer the current look. that said its also my first pack since the Archer I've not ordered ... and i have low practicality standards there. ;)

With only 13 tons of pod space and that fat torso, this one is a hard sell for me. I guess I was hoping for something a lot sleeker, with tighter hit boxes. I understand that some things need to be changed when converted to the final product but I liked the concept artwork better.

EDIT: Spelling.

Can't believe how fat it got lol
Not that it looks bad (imo it could be better, but it could be MUCH worse, so thanks PGI)
The poor thing's hitboxes will probably be trash because of all the bulk
Just look at it next to the Stormcrow. The side torsos are HUGE on the Lanner, and very easily discernible.

I'd take the slimmer concept art over fat-chicken any day, if even if the slender one was forced to be tall due to volumetric scaling.

On the bright side, PGI fixed the single laser hardpoint on the right arm (looks more like the concept art now)!
Looks great now, thanks PGI! Posted Image

I'm eagerly anticipating the Lanner, as it's one of the mechs I'd most like to see in the game. Yes, it doesn't look exactly like in the concept art, but which mech ever did? Let's wait until we know its actual height from the scale screenshots and quirks before calling it DOA.

The more I look at the Blanners right arm, the more I think its time PGI upped the Dragons right arm as well.

The Dragon has lower arm actuators where the Black Lanner does not. I believe this is the original reason for the MWO Dragon arm.

Concept art looks better than actually mech it's true. My main concern is podspace. Isn't this going to be completely worthless?

I was on the fence about this one despite its theorycraft flaws because the concept art looked cool...reasons why you dont pre-order #1337. Why choose this over a Linebacker?

Top of second least used weight class and ECM, what more do you need in MWO? Also sprints way faster than LBK... well, faster than almost anything, and it may be outfitted similarly to, say, Ice Ferret or Shadowcat, which is better than it seems on Clan tech. A very brawly mech in what has become a campfest like before the coming of the Clans (and it will also camp pretty good). Will only buy the hero for MC, no real need for the rest with omni technology.

I'll wait a few months. As of yet, it looks like an ice ferret on blubber diet. With only 3 tons more pod space, the wow factor is tiny. I hope it they give it some armor, otherwise I see no reason to pick this over already fast stormcrows or fast and armoured linebackers, except for maybe some ECM PPC builds.

I'm actually pretty happy with how the size turned out. I'm thinking it'll have pretty high base accel/decel and coupled with MASC it should make that wide *** forehead harder to hit. The only thing I don't like the look of for now is that giant lunch box of a left arm. Looks decently sized for a pair of ERPPC but lasers? Not so much...
Also this is the second release in a row where I think the standard badge looks better than the collector's one

EDIT: I'm very underwhelmed at the hero's machine gun arms though
