Now that the Black Lanner gives Clans a 2nd choice in the 55-ton range, the remaining weight class that isn't on the extreme ends of the scale and that still only has one choice for Clans is the 60-ton class, currently occupied by a very lonely Mad Dog. One important aspect of that weight class is Faction Play, because the current Clan weight limit of 240 divided by 4 mechs comes out to 60 tons as an average. I am not aware of the Clan limit changing anytime soon, so hopefully we'll get another one in that weight for more choices on the battlefield. Thanks for reading!

They decide to give the Hellfire regular feet instead of high heels and we can talk. I'd love a lightweight Heavy that wasn't ridiculously over-engined, though. I bought a MDD-H on sale last week and it's quickly becoming one of my favorite mechs. I can only imagine what the Hellfire would be like.

Well, in addition to the aforementioned Hellfire, there is the Predator, the Thresher, the Matador, the Lupus, and the Glass Spider.

OF those I like the Lupus the most, but I fully admit that the Predator would be the better addition to MWO.

i like that the Hellfire has just half a ton less armor than a Ebon Jaguar. If they quirk it right it would be a powerhouse.

i dont think the Predator would work, just bring a Hunchback 2c for more mobility and smaller target.

The Predator is honestly a solid one, but the Glass Spider would work as well. Even the Thresher.

But the Matador, ugly as it is would be a winner in terms of sheer ability to mount guns. Too bad the M2 needs AP Gauss to come in, which takes another timeskip.

If it's not an Omni, and most of the suggestions aren't...you'll be able to up the engine.

I do. Most of that speed goes to waste if you actually intend to stick with your slower mechs. I actually find omnis that don't waste the vast majority of their weight on engine to be waaaay more effective due to the extra firepower and/or cooling you can carry.

The Hellfire was devloped off of the Lupus, as a way for Clan Star Adder to devlop heavy laser tech. With it being such a success, the Khan of Clan Star Adder, had all of the Lupus units in storage converted over to Hellfires, giving up omnitech that was in them.

speed is everything bro. Doesnt matter how heavily armed you are if you get mauled by a pirannah or cheeta before you maket to the firing line. Look at the linebacker. On paper its a ****. In practice its a tanky, really fast, killing machine.

What about the Notos? 60t, clan tech... ok, the production/introduction year of 3145 might be a bit too far in the future.

It's also a quad and a multiform design, similar to land-air mechs but having a more mobile ground form instead. Way, way, way outside of PGI's current engine capacity.

Predator looks quite meta-friendly.

Though I still want Mektek's Ares.

Only problem with that Ares is the fact that it is not canon... the mech to actually carry the name Ares in canon is a slow moving death machine with three legs...
