If my team really impresses with amazing play, I sometimes tell them over VOIP in the middle of the match something like "you guys are really good at this game."

Many do say that after a match.. or worse bads this or potatoes that etc.. generally alt accounts i'd guess, a great large amount of this community only plays to stomp other customers.. greifers are in every game but here they run rampant.

At least in tier 3 and 4 from what i've seen..

Its the complete opposite of good sportsmanship and rubbing the salt in because you feel the need to.. How was stomping 12 players who were no match for your team and no chance at all anywhere near a good game?

thats not a good game at all.. its depressing and frustrating and to have the other team gloating at you like they enjoyed smashing you dead does not breed a healthy community or a fun game..

When gg-ing type it after the losing team has gg-ed not before, if you do before the losing team it is considered bad manners. Please gg responsibly and avoid creating salt. In fact it is best to say: "thank you for the match" instead as it is more neutral and less bound to create salt.

avoid gg-ing in matches that are close to stomps say 2-12 or 0-12 as this tends to generate the most amounts of salt.

remember only to gg after the losing team and have fun mechwarriors. hopefully this will lead to the future of better manners and more pleasant matches

there are people that type at the start of every game they play, **** like 'Die and rage quit'

and then at the opposite end of the spectrum you have people getting upset when you type 'ggclose' ironically in your own teamchat as an attempt at levity

I mean I've been known to tell an enemy to get lost if they type 'gg' in allchat at the end of a stomp, but I would never have the expectation that that kind of crap is going to go away

in fact topics like this only serve to delight trolls and other subhuman types that take great pleasure in griefing others online

Generally I'll say GG if the enemy team won 12-0. Its literally the perfect match for them, they took advantage of any weakness we showed, they kept their hurt safe, and they blew through the competition. Calling it anything other than a GG would just be false. Its generally the 11-12 matches that are really odd matches full of inconsistency, players all over the place, loads of sloppy play, and it leads to a lot of losses that didn't need to happen. In that case it was a pretty bad game and generally frustrating to be on either side of.

Last that's how it is in my opinion, which tends to be more of the opposite of yours.

To the victor go the spoils. And one of those spoils is the right to trash talk. If trashtalk is limited to "GG" even if it clearly wasn't really a good game, that's about the least trashy trashtalk I've ever seen in a competitive video game.

Starting a match by saying "07" and ending it by saying "GG" is like saying hi and bye to people in an elevator. Weird stuff and funny stuff is at least entertaining.

i say gl hf at the begining of pretty much every match (unless i tabbed out on a 5+ minute wait and we are already droping by the time imtabbed back in) i also say gg or gg wp if i win or i lose even if its a stomp and im on either side and have been for the enitre time ive been playing this game which is 5+ years now about the only time is if i afk'ed after i died and didnt come back until after the matched ended (which also happens somtimes cause i have two dogs the are older and ones going blind and needs attention so)

the only time im personnly offended is if somone says GG EZ because they are then blatently being a jerk and im offened if they are on my team or not though i dont usually say anything because as my grandfather says you cant fix stupid or someone whos a jerk

In MWO, we 100% know that most people DC and start another match when they die. I'm not usually around to 'GG' after I've lost a match, because I've been dead and gone for minutes.
