Any Clan assaults stand out as a top toe-to-toe brawler or is it an IS thing?

If you want a brawler you can buy a scorch or the madcat 2 w 4 missles

MCII-2 with 4x SRM6 + Artemis and 2x LBX-20

Maybe not toe-to-toe but more like as an opportunist. It has a big alpha and you'll wreck a lot of 'mechs.

Might I ask how ? I tried that and I cannot fit in a second lbx20 . I don't have the slot space on the second arm . Are you giving up on max armour or what ?

Here is how i would build it
MCII-2
You can tune this build to suit your prefrences (less ammo more engine, less ammo more heatsinks, less heatsinks more engine, etc).

I brawl with a Direwolf UV I call it Alamo. Usually 4 AC-2s (although UAC-2 would be better), 3 ERLLs, and either an LRM-15 in the CT or an SRM-6 in the Left torso and another in the CT.

MCII-2 with 2x LBX-20 and 4x ASRM6. Understood.

But with Scorch would you go:

4X SRM 6 without Artemis
or
2 X ASRM6 + 2 X ASRM4 ?

I just put together a BLR-1G with one HPPC,a AC-10, 4 Medium Lasers,and a Rocket Pod 20. Judging by how well my K2( fusion of Ash & Baradul builds)does this should be even better.

I never see these in the game anymore, and it makes me sad, they used to be so good with full armor quirks, then structure quirks, they arent as tanky as they used to be but still make amazing brawlers on IS, and Clan.

People probably dont use em bc an orion IIC A can do the same.

It's because MCII-2, Scorch, and the HGN-IIC Hero can do better because of their ability to equip 2 ballistics. I don't think that HGN-IIC's buffs are worth losing a ballistic weapon.

The UAC-20 triggers ghost heat at 2 so a pair of them with SRMs will be too hot to handle well. SRMs are going to spread damage naturally too, so LBX's work well with them.

Damn right you can Clan Brawl... Here is another SNV with SKILL MAZE. Easily 1500dmg capable and the JJ makes it nicely manouverale to spread dmg.

You can Alpha 3 times before you need to stop shooting lasers or SRMs but it cools fast. It also has one of the better cSRM spreads due to mounts of weapons.

Yeah, its like a shotgun. The spread is mitigated though because you are trying to get close for the SRMs anyway, so there is good synergy there, just aim center mass.

LBX's have a higher crit chance too, so that's a bonus.

I do pretty well with a Warhawk Prime w 4 ER PPCs. I know it's not an ideal setup for brawling, but if you know how to set up your weapon groups and skills, it's quite possible keep your heat under control enough to brawl.
