Funny, I was just wondering what happened to the Flea about four days ago. Figured they would have unveiled it earlier. Not the mech for me. Glad they cut the price down to coincide with the tonnage.

HBS unveiled the model a few weeks ago on Twitter in a picture of all the Mech models confirmed to be in BATTLETECH at lunch and HBS licenses the models from PGI.

I'm happy people finally got their beloved mech, but isn't this just a bulkier and slower Locust?
Unless it gets Urbie-level quirks, this mech is going to banish from the battlefield too quicky...

Is the Fire Ant a hero? With CB-boost? If so, why do you get one hero für 10$ OR a hero and another mech for 10$?

Fire Ant is a basic variant, AFAIK.

I think it originally came from MechCommander and got canonized as a Flea variant later on.

Well, I'll be damned. Finally!

So . . . since the Flea is finally making its debut, and there's a lot of Flamer use in there, will we finally see the Flamer start to receive the attention it desperately needs? Please? For reference, to do it in an incremental fashion like Paul wants:

Step 1: Lower Flamer Heat DPS to 2.0

Step 2: Return the Flamer's 0.8 DPS that it had pre-Flamergeddon.

Step 3: Disable all of the "firing window" and "pseudo cooldown mechanics" along with the exponential scaling.

Step 4: Now that the flamer would be the constant stream-firing weapon it's supposed to be, begin tuning DPS, Heat DPS, and HPS to desirable, balanced, and sustainable levels. I think 1.0 DPS, 1.5 Heat DPS, and 1.0 HPS is a good place to start.

Please, can we please finally start to address this weapon system? Especially with a mech variant called the "Fire Ant" coming that carries 3x Flamers, it's only fitting to get the Flamer where it should be; and its the kind of promised Flamer Overhaul that Russ promised back in 2013 that Russ also said would be "discussed at a later time" after Flamergeddon.

Can we please have this discussion and address this weapon system, so mechs like the Flea, Firestarter, and others have the Flamer they deserve?
