Hahahah, makes me think it should be NIN head like a hole, just for the "God Money," refrain.

Well I think the Rammestein is more or less a guilty pleasure someone would be blasting in their neuro helmet. I think whomever posted flight of the valkeries had the right idea.

I would think a steiner battle hymn would have march like qualities with some german classical roots. Maybe lyrics in German and English.

flight of the valkeries is clearly a great idea as an "Offical" battle hymn as its grand style is what a battle hymn should be

For lyrics: http://en.wikipedia...._Wacht_am_Rhein

"From World War I through 1945, the "Watch on the Rhine" was one of the most popular songs in Germany, again rivaling the "Deutschlandlied" as the de-facto national anthem. In World War II, the daily Wehrmachtbericht radio report began with the tune, until it was replaced by the fanfare from Liszt's Les préludes in 1941. The song's title was also used as the codename for the German offensive in 1944 known today as the Battle of the Bulge. Today, the lands along the left bank of the Rhine between Switzerland and the Netherlands are mainly part of Germany. The Saarland, Rhineland-Palatinate and North Rhine-Westphalia are German federal states; Alsace and northern Lorraine are parts of France with a German cultural element to them. The so-called German-French hereditary enmity was ended in 1963 with the Elysée Treaty and the implementation of the Franco–German friendship, so that the danger of an invasion that loomed for centuries over both nations no longer exists. Today, the song has only historical significance in Germany and is rarely sung or played."

Sounds like a good song to drag into the mechwarrior era if there ever was one. The theme of the lyrics seem pretty Steineresque, too. (b'-')b

I agree totally. I think this is the best suggestion I have seen, actually, it captures exactly the kind of nationalism we see in the Inner Sphere factions and it would be very Steiner indeed to resurrect an old song from that very period and use it, with minor additions perhaps, as their official anthem.

I don't think we will have much of a consensus here. Maybe we should make a poll?

Immer in den Feind, bringen wir Zerstörung und Verstümmelung.
Always into the enemy, We bring Destruction and Mayhem.

Im not sure if the translation is right. but serving in the army as a tanker we used this as our moto/hymn

Okay... Rammstein seems to be one of the favourites here... still I would suggest this one:

This song fits perfectly to striding a mech among hillsides while watching for enemys.

It's either Atlases or Atlantes, by the way. You can only pluralize a Latin word that ends in -us with -i.

Although I am loath to share this particular cookie, I do believe it is more than adequate for Steiner. Enjoy :)

Taking a slight break from all the metal in to something more traditional, one of the following:
