- Quick play only => bad
- only KMDDs count => more bad
again a time wasting event ...

I'd like to see the devs get KMDD on trial mechs. Challenge is going to be way too hard for most.

Contrary to popular belief, devs are actually seen in-game on occasion. It is quite possible not to notice though.

Eh, the combination of the "Steer Skull" Faction Indicator with the [PGI] Unit Tag is impossible to miss. No, I have been seeing a real lack of those as of late. :(

Sorry, I suck at getting kills or KMDD. And I do not have time to grind through this event. So, I will not even try. See you later, PGI.

Noticed a disconnected enemy in my Jenner. Killed him... and got no KMDD even though I was literally the only person who shot him from the beginning of the match. Posted Image

TBH its not like the event is really offering some monstrous swag, so I would recommend everyone rock on in your usual way...

I'm seeing a bunch of people that don't know what a KMDD is.

KMDD is when you do the largest percentage of damage to a killed mech. You are allowed to kill it in the process. It will still register.

I completed phase 1 of this event mostly by finding some other poor sod on the red team and brutally murdering them.

Now I'm not saying that the system is flawless. Once or twice, i was pretty sure I got a kmdd and it didnt count after, but overall, just try to kill the crap out of somebody and you get the point.

Also, high dps spread weapons are the secret. If you're back shotting mechs with surgical precision while a lrm boat on your team is hailing on them, you'll get a kill and they'll steal your kmdd every time.

Shotguns and streaks are my preferred weapon combination.

There was an event past months where both kills and KMDDs counted...

...thats when I busted out the Direstar, almost guaranteed both in one alpha...

What Jenner builds are people using? I tried several times with the trial build and it just can't dish out enough damage fast enough (that and it's on an alt account with T4 potato teams but we'll gloss over that)

Also I managed to get the Shadowcat done with a 6x HMG feat 2x ERLL -P, surprisingly fun to scurry behind something and poot them to death

I do not have an jenner, so i had to do this with the trial, did it in very few matches too. Thank goodness i did id in the first hours of the event where everyone was in headless chicken mode. Key was voting for conquest maps and going for beta/epsilon instead of the low hanging fruit or the big fight at theta. I met some mist-lynx (also trials) and just took their legs out. If that does not work anymore try to vote for mining complex or such map where you can circle around with the jenner and just tear a back torso open really fast after you get in a favourable position.

Just do not rush straight into the enemy to get the "quck" kill. it will be yours.

how did the shadow cat that's in the trials, become a Champion Build ?
it is no where near to qualify with the (C), why place a SCH-A arm on, if you're not going to use ER's ?

this SHC-PRIME(C) that is used for a trial, should have the Franken pattern, this thing is totally a Frankenstein build, just a bunch of different omnis with no thought.

probably originally 3 ER large, and it was somehow decided to swap the 3 erLL's for 2 large pulse,
I would thought, just by the omni's used, go with 3 erML, TC MKVII, and a couple more DHS, would make a much better Trial mech , noobie friendly too, since there is less need to heat manage. hmm might try that, tho maybe not and leave it as a theory build

As far as i understood the trial mechs loadout was voted on in the community. However this was a long time ago™. Perhaps the build made sense back then. But yes, i had a VERY good first run whith the trial-shadow cat, but afterwards t i thought it could profit from new tech. Same goes for the mist-lynx trial and some others.

Seems they were built to spec a long time ago, but never got adapted to nerfs/buffs nor the arrival of new tech (heavy lasers anyone?). Perhaps the loadout on older trial mechs could be reviewed a little after solaris is in place and running?

I can accept that,
so before the skill tree, and it's only a right side poker

the way it is now, it's a great Kill stealing build, but due to a bug, Kills don't count for this Event Posted Image

The easiest Jenner to farm KMDDs is the Oxide. The -D works with 4 ML, 2 SRM4 or the -F with 4 MPL. As someone mentioned above you need weapons that cycle fast (like the pulse lasers) and preferable spread like SRMs, SSRMs. Try to single out people that overextend or are out of position like snipers and lurmboats. That is where the Jenner really shines.

SHC was better back in day as was cLPL. Combined they were too good so "needed" little nerfing.

https://mwomercs.com...on-mech-builds/

Discussion relating to SHC can be found from there.

Most efficient this LPL build is when battle lines are static and it can poptart oppo at optimal range with relative short burn. Unfortunately meta game is currently quite different and SHC(C) is hurting. And as said left is shield side and helps more experienced players way more than new ones.

4xML, 2xSRM-4 + 1 ton, XL 275, 3xJJ (can trade 1 for extra ammo), dual strikes, dual coolshots. Still requires some luck (or getting an enemy in 1v1 situation), but it's doable.

Finally finished this Event's 'Phase 1' about 15 Hours prior to when I'm posting this. Have all 8 "Urban Block" Chassis Camos and 8 Million (C-Bills) from this part. Haven't felt like I could say much of anything until now, as exhausted as 'Phase 1' has made me in trying to provide myself with recovery time before the next parts. Feels like my mind (Possibly even a soul, if I have one? Who knows, as they're not scientifically proven, unless I missed something? I'm not going into this thought!) got sucked out through the back of my head, leaving behind a husk for a person. I hope 'Phase 2' won't be nearly as hard, but I am extremely open to a HotFix Patch being posted to repair what's preventing the Event from being able to operate as originally intended. That way, the criteria could be reset to "Kill and/or KMDD", instead of the more limited "KMDD Only" which we have now. Yes, we would likely need a Time Extension to one or both Phases of this Event to compensate for the Downtime, but having to wait and download a HotFix Patch seems like it would be worth the decrease in any headache that people are having now.

EDIT :: By the way, I know this last bit is going to come off sounding a little odd, particularly since I'm having to add it after I hit the 'Post Button' because I only thought of it now. But, with the headache that has been happening with the whole "KMDD Only" thing, I feel like there should have been some "Stretch Goal Reward" for completing a whole set of a Phase's parts. I wouldn't mind if it was small, just as long as it made the headache really feel worth the trouble. Any chance we could have one?

(p.s.: Yeah, I'm just trying to give a care with a post that took more than 1 hour to write, given Real Life distractions...)
