playing trial mechs for this event is a trap

you can out-earn the 1 mio c-bills by bringing skilled mechs

If you don't enjoy playing the mech, don't do that part of the event. No point in getting aggravated about the event. I couldn't play the Shadowcat, so after a few matches, I played a normal non-trial mech I enjoyed. The event rewards aren't that great anyway.

Personally, I'm enjoying seeing mechs I don't normally see in QP. The same mechs day after day are kind of boring.

This is one of the rare events to offer up free paint jobs and on multiple mechs to boot . I am sure most of us have one or two of them in our hangers .

If I have to be honest most of these trial mechs are pretty well built . If I have one gripe it's that back torso armour is very much non existent .
It's good to give free mechs some love .

Sheesh, there are plenty of threads with the same subject written before this, where you could have added your opinion. Must you add one more? Posted Image

Mods, could you merge all these bad event/bad mechs threads into one big thread?

Hey El Bandito, the "customers" are not happy with the product... The product owner is focused on what "they want" vis-a'-vis what customers want and that is creating and has caused a large Exodus of players and teams.......

MWO has become a "what you see is what you get platform": a simplistic, 2D, arcade style, Arena FPS shooter with stompy robots and that may be fine for half of the players who really will play "anything" and "keep buying everything"....... the rest have or will depart MWO for other games.... Mature product cycle is in effect and PGI is tone deaf........

It's that simple. It doesn't matter if this is a repeat thread because each customer is allowed to and suppose to decry what they perceive as a product they care about being destroyed and it make many feel sad and they hope PGI is reading the forums........and, they may be or should be if they are smart.

I can't, cause I have low tolerance for idiots.

Pfft. The current event's selection of "bad" mechs has very little to do with the general state of MWO. All OP is doing is further cluttering the front page with another thread that has been posted by others already. And this thread is far less constructive in comparison.

Shesh, why the hell are so many people trying to do the event in trial mechs? It is pointless!

Good question! If they don't own the mech, the pattern isn't going to be useful and they can earn 1 million C-bills just playing a mech they enjoy for 3 or 4 matches. I used the event to buy and play mechs I was interested in. Some of the mechs I purchased I liked (Orion IIC) and some of them I didn't (Shadowcat, Jenner).

Ya, that's exactly my thoughts on the matter. 1 million cbills isn't even that much, and they'll be earning so much more cbills per match in a non-trial mech that it'd make up for not attempting the event.

Nothing more satisfying than that click on the [redeem]-button, I guess.

How can a long existing member not have collected any of qualifying mechs in the years since 2012?

The best gameplay was years ago. You got your coming and leaving order reversed. I’m sorry.

The Shadowcat was a fun ride for long time. If you would have actually cared about this IP you would have picked one up in its pre-nerf heyday and we would’t be having this conversation.

In my case the event incentivized me to buy a King Crab, which for some reason I had never tried before. Not too shabby!

Well hopefully they realize how much love some of these mechs need.

One never knows what PGI is considering. Who knows, they may be collecting data on some of these so-called 'under performers' to update them, or not. We dont know.

What we do know is that many players have asked for paint schemes for prizes in events and they have offered that up.
If you dont own the mech, you dont need the paint (unless you are planning on buying the trial mech(s) you have been using).

Most of all, you DO NOT have to play the event, just game as normal and farm the trials....
