Having said that, why can i connect to NA server from Melbourne at 250 ping but NA cant connect to here with less than 350 ping? If this cant be fixed it will have to back to SG, ill probably play less having experienced what it should be like vs what we've had for years.
What pgi has to decide is, are there more steam gamers in South East Asia likely to pick this game up when solaris launches, or more people in Aus / Nz likely to pick it (back) up.

It's not about AU/NZ players vs SG players, it's the rest of the world connecting to either an SG or AU/NZ server and whether they want to or not, deciding based on ping.

This could be an opportunity to tune HSR as now I gotta ultra guid (SYD) connection, a medium connection (NA) and a laggy connection (EU).
Gotta be others like me and its a data set worth analysing and could beif help to HSR tuning.
Thx PGI ur dat Best !!!!!!

I am located in Taiwan and the ping time to Singapore is about 50ms, whereas to Sydney it would be 170ms at best (using PCCW)
If you want to have excellent point of presence in Asia, obviously Singapore, along with HK and Tokyo are the hubs to be at for connectivity.
sydney is on the east side of australia. it's several thousand kilometres closer to NA

Bad news are, Oceanic dwellers number loss even more after already drindling in recent half a year, you won't get enough people for a match.
Good luck Oceanic players.

Ping from NA/EU to new Oceanic must be even worse. Which means no-one except AU/NZ will queue on Oceanic.
But yeah do please something for the AU/NZ folks too.

There's a reason for this: ping from anywhere but AU/NZ is bad. So others aren't queuing new Oceanic.
I used to see lots of NA/AU/NZ folks on old Oceanic, which means it was viable for non-Asia folks. New Oceanic is, sadly, only good for AU/NZ.
Wish PGI would do something for Asia *and* AU/NZ instead of it being an either/or choice

Started with the immediate drop to 17ms and now back to 240ms as well as a black screen lock after loading from map select?
This is happening from two separate PCs..

Server in Sydney. Half the players in the region are better off playing on the NA server and will deselect the OC server.
Server in Singapore. Half the players in the region are better off playing on the NA server and can also deselect the OC server.
There is little point in having regional servers if you can't get a game on them because there are not enough players that have selected to use the server. Selecting more than one server to improve your chance of getting a game highlights this issue and I would say that when I have NA and OC selected I would probably get more matches on the NA server anyway.
If everyone goes back to the NA server where lo and behold, there is a greater concentration of players in one spot, we get faster matches and maybe even better match making.
Don't get me wrong, I am enjoying playing almost exclusively on the OC server while it is being tested in Sydney this week but I would prefer to get more matches more consistently and spend my time playing the game instead of watching the search.
