There's a difference between an 'April Fools Joke' and an 'April Fools Prank'... Also a difference between 'terrible', 'funny', and 'terribly funny'. As for anyone being able to tell between them, that takes a refined mental palate and a serious ability to differentiate which is which.

Last year's 'April Fools Joke' was definitely in worse taste than this one, and could have been possibly classed as an 'April Fools Prank'. This year's 'April Fools' was not anywhere near as bad, but I feel like it left a feeling for desiring some things that won't make it into MWO. Frankly, I would be very surprised if they did add any of that.

Heck... I'm wondering why we weren't given Toggleable Active/Passive Radar that started out in Passive Mode.

You know, it's traditional to save the April fools gags until the 1st of April?

I'm sure both the players in New Zealand are hooting though!

Umm... it took me an embarrassing long period of time to realise it was an April Fools joke, and not simply some adorable, fluffy Corgi butt themed special event :P

I hope I actually get the items! A corgi Yap Yap Yap warhorn would be fun!

Not really. Strike, hit, don't get hit back (much) and disengage for some time. I believe 'mech weight and distance are factors for the timer.

Any idea what those values are, I am failing miserably at achieving my last 3 hit and runs. THB I am starting to suspect that energy weapon registration might be off, after firing 2 cERLL at optimal range, full burns, for 20 strikes and then end of match only having done 81 damage seems terrible wrong to me. I know I play with a high ping, but I've never struggled with energy weapons before.

Should have put the event page on the front page with all the latest, so people can see there's an event..

For the hit and run, it seems you need to deal damage (as per Matt's post) BUT, then you have to disengage, for at least a 6 count; then it will pop up, rinse repeat. So just pretend you are an assault mech afraid of your own shadow and you should have it done in no time :P

PGI,

the Corgi standing items are incredible.
very good animation.
im impressed.

but at the same time they make me very sad.
because its obvious that you guys have skills,
and are able to put in good effort into detail...
yet you choose to do so on these small trivial things while ignoring the obvious enormous problems in the game.
sigh.

The event was kinda nice, just the "hit and run" part could've done with a way lower number of required occasions. Was at 42/5 flanking when I finally got that 10th hit and run.

Uhm, dude... Where? I don't see it, and that's a mean thing to make somebody think it happened... Particularly if they're seriously in hope of it actually happening. <_<

This is a pretty great events. I like it. I don't really understand why people are constantly whining about this or anything in the game. Seriously, just play a different game if it's THAT bad. Thanks for the event. Your going to give us a Urbanmech IIC now right? RIGHT?!

Those Hit & Runs... who knew that would be the trickiest part of the challenge (for me)? I read the FAQ, followed the instructions, but repeated was not awarded the Hit & Run. Then other games, I got it 1-2 times without making any effort to do so.

I still feel like there's some criteria that isn't published about how to get this (and several other) awards. This is one of those things where it would be *really* nice to have a knowledge base / community wiki. I've seen numerous streamers talking about information that was readily available during closed beta that's apparently just evaporated in the aether.

P.S. Corgi... a dog... still not a quad. That's just mean, PGI.
