Everybody is complaining about the Nova Cat's top speed of 65kph, but that's the same speed my Marauder BH2 runs, and it has no problem getting around? Am I missing something?

Its not about speed. Marauders have somewhat better acceleration and turn rate and that's why they feel more agile.

NCTs also have really bad hitboxes and no defensive quirks. That combined with bad-ish mobility makes them easy targets.

Yes as much as I try to love it, it fails miserably every time. Just dosnt stack up against ANY other assault.

You clearly have never piloted one then. I've sawed clean through Dire Wolves and Kodiaks with mine.

a Nightstar's actually pretty much the IS equivalent to the Kodiak, like how the Annihilator is the IS Dire Wolf. play them like it and you do fine.

Most Clan heavies go 81, except the likes of Night Gyr which is packing most tonnage for weapons and thanks to omnipods can take several different top loadouts. So people are comparing to the "standard" 81 and saying it's slow.

I think it has decent speed, it wins in firepower while having more space for ammo or heatsinks. But sure, I've only tried the LRM version yet, LRM boats don't need that much speed. I also brough the energy version with 4 energy in arms, so I can try 4 large pulse on it. Firepower close to Warhawk, same speed, but smaller size.(sure less armor) I did the initial config but haven't bothered to play it yet.

With some mechs having all weapons on arms is fragile but I think heavies and assults can do well with it, since the torso is collecting hits. Zeus is super tanky thanks to its weapons in arms while having huge structure quirks on torso. Even if it had armor quirks but if it were to have weapons on torso, once the armor is gone on STs, the weapons start getting wrecked. But with no weapons(or ammo!) there, the ST needs to die completely to lose weapons on the arm.

In that Nightstar has pretty decent survivibility because of structure quirks+weapons in arms, Im yet lacking to have good firepower to go along with that. I've been few times legged, I wonder if some players realize that since the arms are so cramped with weapons, I have to place quite a lot of ammo into legs as I don't want much in the STs.

I am thinking a Nova Cat Hero the "Cobra Cat" maybe an Omnimech to add to an Invasion Drop Deck along with a Mad Cat MK2 "Deathstrike" or Mad MK2 B.
