Heck, I'm wishing I could have already been reading the Upcoming Patch Notes as well.
After the preview teasers, I'm already looking forward to the MechLab Camera Update, and curious about the New Supply Cache System that will be in place.

Not sure.
I mean I must admit to being a bit interested in the Mech lab changes for a hopefully improved mechporn experience; and I can’t deny a bit of “can’t turn away from a car crash” sort of perverse curiosity regarding the way you have divided up the variants into their seven -you’re stuck here for three months at a shot have fun if you don’t like the meta because we aren’t even pretending that this is balanced- divisions.
But am I ready to see/and play Solaris? No. Not at all. See I play this team game called MWO. In those rare instances I have a desire to 1v1 someone, that game provides me with a lobby where I and my opponent can do that. But the MWO I normally play is to be played with a group. And it is that group experience that keeps me playing everyday (when I can). It’s more like a pick up game of nightly basketball; a large aspect of the allure of play is the community with whom you are playing, as much as it is the game. Solaris seems to me to be removing that communal experience (yeah, yeah 2v2 as well, but still) and reduces it to a game of 1 on 1. More often than not, 1 v 1 games of any kind are just boring.
So am I ready for that?
No. Not really. I accept that this is where the game is inevitably heading but I am not in any way excited or happy about this acceptance. It’s not so much that I am ready for Solaris, as I am ready for the novelty of Solaris to quickly fade so that I can go back to playing the team game known as MWO once most folks get Solaris out of their system. Until then, I guess I am ready for 15 minute wait times in group queue for a while.

This is the game mode mechwarrior online was born to be
There's something very exciting about going 1 on 1 with another competitive mechwarrior.
The combat itself is completely different from group fw or qp.
It's fair. There's no ganking. Or pug stomping. It's your mind against your opponent.
the builds in Solaris will be different. Shielding will be viable.

Then why did Holly spend all that time doing Quad Animations ?
Unless it was pretty tasteless bait and switch, they'll possibly turn up after the other issue is sorted.
Let's face it Mitch has had to deal with the quad version of "are we there yet" for over two years..
oh duh..this is a thread about that thing coming out next week.
I'm ready to not play it
