Well if you ask.

Frankly I am a bit concerned if this Sol7 rebrand is ment seriously. With a whole universe to explore I would find such a big focus on just one world a bit to much. Moreover most MWO maps allready feel very cramped an narrow to me, so we had some kind of Sol7 allready. I think it is good that the 1v1 players now have their niche and wish them lots of fun.

But for me faction warfare always will be the end game content, with groups that play together and keep players involved and a space map or territorial map that puts every battle into a larger context - and pays of some MC + other rewards. I yearn for larger open and wide maps where forces have to manouver, split to reach necessary preconditions and maybe join together to finish the final objective. Maybe even spawning AI tanks and infantry squads from factories and bases that can be damaged/destroyed/repaired to decrease/increase the spwan rate. Those tanks and infantry could run down routes to form fronts that are in balance so players in their mechs can tip this balance by destroying enemy assets, or try get deep into enemy territory and attack the spawn bases. Just to sketch an idea in a whole universe that offers so much possibilities.

This all is ment in a positive way, as I think it's good we now can stop by in Sol7 to get a bit of diversion with some arena fights and sittin in a bar. It is part of this universe and we would be missing out without it. Just remember it is but one of thousands of worlds colonized by human kind, once united under the star league... Posted Image

Sometimes I like going QP for pure chaotic selection of players and team. Will I get a dependent, go with the flow team that dosent act like hangover victims? Who knows.
Sometimes I drop with a few people from my unit, great, kinda awesome but not often.
Rarely do I even bother with Faction Play, was most fun in the first three iterations of it. The fierce team work between factions to beat the clans back was kinda epic! I loved the underdog intensity of being FRR loyalist, it was fun and awesome!

But sometimes, SOMETIMES! Like what we get the chance of now, without being dependent on private matches and find people for it, we get matchmaker 1 on 1. Finally!
A mode where its ONLY me to rely on, an individual agains another, NO frigging distractions by 22 other players.
Survival by the fittest.
Bring it!

How can we be ready when we haven't been given a list of what mechs are in which of the 7 tiers to work out which mechs we want to play?

How can we be ready when we dont have Templates to easily change between QP skill tree layout and Solaris arena mode layout?

How can we be ready when our mechs sometimes explode at only 90% heat having never hit 100% a bug added last patch?

How can we be ready when we don't know the new ELO system, is it the same as Comp starting at 1500 ? Are YOU ready for the backlash of low skill people having to lose 10+ matches before they start getting close matches ? many will give up after getting their *** handed to them 3 times, you need to emphasise to these people they will need to stick threw the early matches for the experience to get better....

How can we be ready when we haven't had a double xp event we've been asking for nicely for aages, 23 mechs still to finish off leveling here.

Having said all that, my hopes are high and I am excited but as most I am expecting them to get crushed because thats what usually happens.

Hope we get all that info in this weekends streams.

Really Wish your events would start 7pm AEST Friday =( starting 11am saturday sux =(

I feel like if they had launched MWO with Solaris as the primary component and marketed it as such. They might have avoided a lot of grief with over promising things they couldn't deliver on. Because to be honest online pvp makes more sense for Solaris.

yeah no. as others have said we already have 1v1 and look at how popular that is. Also considering it takes about 5 minutes just to get into a game once you have found one, and the fact that a 1v1 takes all of 2 minutes or less people will spend longer waiting for games then playing them and that worked out so well of CW didnt it?

Also balance will be screwed by this its a certainty. Considering how much trouble its been to balance just for 12v12, 1v1 will not be good. One of two things will happen, either Solaris will be horriblely unbalanced or QP will be, good luck acheiving one to one balance with any mech and still having 12v12 be viable.

Frankly i think Solaris will worsen the decline in player skill and build quality, in a 1v1 things like ammo and heat are comparatively irrelevant to winning, all you need is enough damage to vaporise the enemy before you either die or overheat. high alphas and extreme DPS will be whats popular, but mechs which excel 1v1 are usually lame in 12v12, to much focus on hammering one person and not much consideration for long term sustainablilty (ammo, low heat)

I think its going to be fun. But.. I go out of my way to 1v1 peeps even though I usually lose.

As an upside, the matches should be faster. This might give new pilots more seat time at a faster rate, and I think it'll go a long way to improving the general skill level of everyone.

Yeah...all 27 responses. Bunch a whiny LRMers "not ready".

After several hours of the OP being posted, they have a whopping 27 comments.

Who cares about LRM carriers, what is more telling here is the lack of ANY enthusiasm for this.
Go post about the next mech pack or how to fix CW or even some technical BS about TT vs in game values, and you will have far more responses and with far more enthusiasm than the few posts put up thus far.
But here we have a thread by PGI about their brand new, its so awesome we are re-branding the game to focus on this mode...and they get 27 responses. Yeah. Must be those weak sauce LRMers who aren't "ready".

This aint about LRMers not being enthused, this is about most players of the game not being enthused.

Yeah yeah. And maybe the problem in people themselves, in their playstyle. Running and dying with 0 dmg, using lrms (read -****** builds), staying at the backs of people who fight and doing nothing. Maybe they just afraid of 1vs1 and now they have "no enthusiasm".

Well PGI, you have managed to pull a goodly amount of loot from me in 18 months or so but in my mind it has been worth it. I enjoy the fun of PUG QP matches and I look forward to some of the FP events you have put on. I've bought a ton of mech packs and MC bundles... but I don't want or enjoy 1v1 or 2v2. Solaris doesn't seem to be bringing anything to the table for us older whales with sheckles to drop on something they get a kick out of.

I hope the Mercenaries version will get my wallet moving, but Solaris - I'll let the youngsters have fun with that.

Considering that the whole point of MWO is unit tactics, this is just stupid. Solaris was a little mini-game in one of the previous games, and now they're marketing with it. What the hell? I can't wait for the crash and burn, and then we can go back to normal.

Bye bye group play, welcome Rambo style solo gaming.

I try Solaris, but I don't really care about it. So much better things could have been done with the ressources pured into it, for exampel make decent CW.

**** yes I am ready. You won't be able to make me play **** Play ever again even if you pay me.
I think there might be a connection between people who say they are not excited about 1v1 and the fact they are all painfully low on the jarl's list. Coincidence?

I think the jarl's list is a load of ****, it doesn't factor in non meta builds and how agressively you play, if you just play maxed out meta mechs instantly skilled with gsp or if you have to level mechs, or if you use your team as a meat shield every game.

This is by far the most beautiful picture you guys have done in a long long time.. Well done.

Hope you gave the mode the same attention, design quality, and flare.

Solaris 7 is much better than the QP in the CW because there are no:
naskar, noobs, cowardly longs, cowardly idiots who hide behind the backs of the teammates.

In the solaris there is only you, your skill and experience. There's no one to blame, no one to hope on. There is nothing to justify your defeat. The enemy is in the same conditions. And it's great!

Moreover, solaris will be a gift for the players-friends who together are almost impossible to find game in the QP, when they are only two in the team.

Renaming the game is a bit worrysome, I'm afraid it shows where your focus may lie from now on. I will be waiting for Community Warfare/Faction Warfare/Faction Play updates/changes, maybe eventually after some even more time this so called end game will get some attention and finally turn into something decent, less meaningless & flavourless. So many ideas on the forums, so many other games with some kind of war mode out there to take ideas from. Such a shame devs decided to put time and money into making solaris(solaris without melee combat heh), instead of updating what we already have in game.
