Faction Play Changes
Season 2 has now begun for the Invasion Era 3057 in Faction Play!
This means that all the Maps, Mercenary and Loyalists Contracts and Unit MC tags on all planets have been reset.

Ah.... We've been on Faction Play Season 2 for like... 8-12 months now. So that has gotta be a typo or something

Also PLEASE fix Faction Play. It means nothing with 1-bucket. I am working on a doco, will get community input and will send it through.

Out of all the things that Starcorps does.... they get recognized for having a license to manufacture an engine licensed out to MANY manufacturers by the General Motors company.
Posted Image

StarCorps Industries produces over 35 different 'Mechs (at which point I stopped counting as the list went on...and on...and on...and on...and on...) and it includes both existing MWO mechs as well as mechs that have been long asked for yet still not in game...

And they're recognized for producing the "highly sought after General Motors licensed 270 fusion engine"....
....Which no one wants a 270 unless they're forced to use it...

They even produce some of the first Omnimechs in the IS...
But lets recognize them for a sub-licensed engine!

Update seems good; looking forward to it.
Recently noticed skill tree has lost the thousand clicks to activate one node, so big pluses there even though its already been implemented.
(...Seriously though...recognize a company for making a sub-licensed engine made in at least 9 different factories by 7 different companies... Might as well recognize Ford for making Onstar...just 'cause you can install it on a Ford.
....which I just discovered, Onstar is owned by the real life General Motors Company.)

Thanks for providing a list of the various divisions. I know somebody would've done it here anyways but it saves them the work and makes it much easier to find.

I like preemptively dealing with the Dire Star for Solaris and flamerboating without outright banning the weapon. The LRM velocity quirk seems a bit odd to me though. The retrofits are nice too.

I have a question about the new Mechbay camera. Can I see my mech while still switching around equipment? I hate having to hop into the practice mode to figure out which weapons on the same component are which.

From Stream:
Bolt-ons have to be customized for each mech (size, dimensions, etc.). Not all Mechs will have bolt-ons at launch.
They have 2 artists doing nothing but bolt-ons right now (new hires).

YLW is in a lower division than every other Centurion why?

Can't wait for the quick shuffle of tiers for some of these :)

LRM buffs? wtf why?

Because they're horribly inaccurate weapons that don't even get the benefit of better damage up close like ATMs?

(And they're still slower and have less range than ATMs, but at least not by as much.)

When unlocked, making them fire like slower MRMs would be perfect. Then they'd actually be useful in places with a low roof (tunnels, under the dock in Crimson or roof in HPG/basement).

Commando vs Kodiak?

I know this is really unfair, the Commando would win literally every time. Posted Image

Amazing! I've been waiting for this. Question: Solaris City? Solaris maps? Additional info?

The solaris city map for quick play has been stated multiple times as delayed by 1 month (coming out next month)

FINALLY...after how many years PGI learned how to code different map temperatures, especially so that all the hot maps aren't withing TWO degrees range of one another. AND the HPG station on the moon is no longer warmer than polar highlands.

Considering that the Moon can hit 127 Celsius in daylight, I don't see how that was an issue.

Nice, nice. A patch with some actual meat to it for once.

Also........interesting changes.....

Posted Image

Wonder if PGI was actually smart enough to change the maps heat multipliers and such accordingly, since the "Map Temp" is just there as an aesthetic piece of info???

Maybe I missed it but I did not see the Sunspider in the rankings. Nevermind. I found it. I did not think to look for it in Div 2. Those hit box changes must be great!

I would like to have some sort of frame of reference for the previous temperatures (or heat dissipation rates) of each map. Terra Therma is one of my favorite maps and if it got hotter then I will see it even less than now, which is almost never.

We are going to need a double experience event and MC GXP conversion sale to have the XP to re-skill a stable of Mechs for Solaris 7.

I watched the Solaris 7 preview stream tonight and I am very impressed with what I saw. The UI looks slick and the maps are fantastic. Props to the whole team for hitting this one out of the park!

Edit: found Sunspider.

Timber Wolf in Division 2?

OMEGALUL.

Remember that PGI has a secret Div A uber competitive meta team that nobody knows about deciding on these!!!

They are also the ones giving PGI balance advice.

Clearly NOT. if they even bothered to consult the top comp players like denairwalker... who incidentally HAS made an accurate mech tier list.... then the Divisions would look vastly different...

for reference: https://docs.google....Xh_gI/htmlview#
this list is actually accurate to reality and actually explains why.

once again. PGI proves to be delusional.

So much time and money wasted on this game mode which will only further fracture the player base, making wait times go full on unbearable most times of the day.

I just want a game where when I alpha an enemy repeatedly at point blank range, I get actual credit, and the enemy's armor is diminished accordingly. Beyond sick of matches where I pour out hundreds of dmg into slow moving/stationary mechs I know I'm not missing, at least not according to the graphics the game is showing me, and yet they barely register any dmg, and at the end of the match, the game credits me for a fraction of what was dished out.
