I don't wanna ban the log-in popup completely, as nothing makes me rage more than people not reading patch notes and asking just horrible questions that are clearly explained in them(not just this one...)
It's like when my kids said they wanted to play D&D but didn't wanna read any of the material to learn how to play.

I never had Problems before. Now I have. I looked around some hours, and found no solution:
I also have the Problem that the download of this patch (17-4 Solaris patch and the hotfix after) got stuck.
Waited for some hour, then tried it with manual download cache ( 2 times 1,4 gb costs me 1-2 hours each), repair tool, no result,
but I had a MWO client not the newest version, since January, which I could not update, because running the installer (click on download now/update to new version popup dont know exactly name - does load the installer, then aboats with no effect after finishing 'preparing installer' process.
So I have now seen the message above to try to update the MWO portal somehow... I cannot uninstall it because of A problem with the installer 'The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2203.' Thats when uninstalling, so I cant.
now if I run the installer of MWO, newly downloaded from the MWO site, MWO portal IS already installed, so I get not forth and not back.
I deleted some regedit keys, which was adviced here:
https://mwomercs.com...roubleshooting/
now I can run the installer, but INSTALLING I get the Error 2203 again, I deleted the MWO portal folder manually and deleted all regestry entrys with containing MWO Portal (exactly was using the seach function of registry) (unimportant, but using Win7 64, other OS also have same problems, but in my case my wisdom ends here:
I must not download 25-50 gb again, it takes me more than 1-2 days! Its installed and was running until before last patch.
Please give me an answer, I might do the request in the tech support, I do, but the problem is already mentioned and belongs to here, but my Case of the problem goes deeper, because I cant solve error 2203. I searched for solutions, but there is no definete answer on this error code, just a lot of unsolved trash. Thats what it is in several forums.
Sorry, PGI, the game is over......

Verify you have 64-bit OS (32-bit support was dropped)
Try opening a thread in the correct area of the forums (this thread is not for tech support).
Try contacting PGI's official tech support.
Try using Steam (would require downloads).

You've corrupted something, your best bet is to uninstall completely, and start fresh.
I'm willing to wager there's other issues with your PC as well.

According to Microsoft, it indicates insufficient permissions. Are you running it as administrator?

Bolt-ons come in chassis-specific versions. You might have the tusks for anothe mech entirely.

Using CCleaner solved me many problems for downloading different games.
Short version - some MS temp stuff makes a mess during the upgrades until it is removed...
Fingers crossed for You.

Quickplay = wait, long match, c-bills
Solaris = wait, short match, few c-bills wait, short match, few c-bills, wait, short match, few-c-bills'
so more waiting time in solaris.
Chat has the old problems like the chat in quickplay had. One should have guessed, if you programm a new part of the game, you could have learned from the errors made in the past. But no.
In every new sequence, we have a new chat window. And the chat window forgets what you have written in the last chat window.
And when you have time to write in the chat window, during the sequence when duncan fisher is talking, of course it is not possible to write in the chat window.

It needs to be fixed in the next two weeks via hotfix.
Not in 2 or 3 months.
WEEKS.

The waiting times vary depending on the division you are in, I mainly play DIV 6 in solo and I rarely wait more than 40s. In group though, unless you are playing a division 1 or 2 Mech, you will wait a while.

Unless you constantly install and uninstall stuff, your registry should never get so messed up that it causes problems. The best solution is usually a clean install rather than picking through the registry.

LOADING . . . . . . .
wait for ******* ever just to get back to the ******* mechlab!
Or within my Unit's Group, thus holding up my team from finding a new match asap!
New patch has made this worse and longer than it was before said patch!
LOL good stuff!

That aside, I have enjoyed WATCHING the 1v1 and 2v2 Solaris matches on Twitch.

2) At the loading page my ping to NA was 235, just playable, but when the match started, it shot to 2000. Again unplayable.
Hopefully, something can be done.

I believe they said that it is determined by the location of the players somehow, but no, you can't pick which server. I had to play on NA against a Euro player who was warping everywhere and that was not fun.

Currently been trying to login after latest server boot. 15th try. Getting a mix of:
"A Network Error Occurred. Please check your internet settings" and another (less frequently) that tosses an error code out.
Worst. Patch. Ever.

Unfortunately for me that equates into more an 1 minute of loading times. That is pretty close to unacceptable.
