Shut your ***** mouth you heretic.

I would trade 90% of the players in this game as human sacrifices to get more Duncan Fisher commentary.

But hey, you don't have to trade any players for human sacrifice. Russ is already working on getting more Duncan Fisher lines into the game (according the the NGNG stream from the other day).

Even from the streams, it's pretty obvious that it is going to be a bit repetitive, but it definitely needs to be there. Duncan is exactly the kind of thing we need more of in MWO.

I absolutely love the guy, but compared to MW4, this is a step down.

And why is every fight I load into supposedly a close match? Really? They certainly don't feel like it.

It's because there hasn't been time for ELO to distribute out. A difference of 200 points right now is pretty big, but once you have players sitting at something like 3000 it won't be nearly as significant. That's my take on it at least, we'll see how it is once people have played for a bit.

I for one enjoy Duncan's character, especially by Mr. George L. May he add much content to add the variety we seek. Great ambience!

When there are 100 different predictions some are bound to come true. Especially with a bunch of bitching Betty's running around...

Also, in universe an announcer may hype up a match up to keep people interested. If it's a guaranteed stomp, there's probably less explosions and hard pounding action for the spectator.

While the lines do start to repeat very quickly, I've never found it particularly annoying. He's got a great radio voice.

I take the commentary as sort of "Arena-Flair" and do not actually listen to it like i do not listen to BB, i only recognize the noise and the additional Flair it brings into the game which i like.

To appeal to the ego of the loser probably. Don't want folks getting discouraged even if they are suffering blow outs.

But imagine if the lines were context-sensitive. A "terribad" wins against a "tryhard" and Duncan goes "What an upset! Such a humbling defeat!". Posted Image

I'm not overly impressed by the lines, but other than him there's almost nothing to remind you that it's supposed to be a paid arena fight. I mean, we don't see the crowd. Are spectators supposed to sit in a remote location and watch everything on the screen? I also expected an option to spectate as chosen player fights, this would improve the feel of the mode for players themselves.

I like Duncan, and the little bit of arena-chic he brings to the game. I mean, I could do with 20-30 more lines recorded, and some dialogue that's tied to events more than just "OH NOT GONNA SEE THAT ARM AGAIN!" but really I like it. Lends to the whole "super rich, super over-the-top gladiator" aesthetic.

i think the start animation and the little mech reveal animations need to be a little shorter. and the commentary needs to be more diverse and dynamic. what did russ tell him to say the same joke in 7 different ways?

The mech elevator and intro cutscene are far more tedious than the commentary. It's nice to be able to preview your opponent, but that could be done as a simple chassis and maybe weapon loadout on the ready screen.

Counting load times in I get about 90 seconds of play time put of a full 5 minute cycle for matches.

The commentary is the funnest part

Having burned many hundreds of hours in MW4 Solaris arena... i'm fine with duncan fisher. Problem is... he doesn't keep giving commentary when the play stalls as folks hide in ambush, or when you get the final kill.

I agree. Commentators generally fill dead air time when they can. I'm sure the game can detect if no player is in combat and have some lines for Duncan there.

More lines are always good. I'm sure writers will have some idea on what's good to add after some feedback.

Yet another thing that was predicted: Commentary getting annoying really, really fast.

It's fascinating how accurate the prophesies have been so far.

Welcome to the club... I've been batting an 800 so far on my predictions for MWO since 2014...

This is is tedious, hope elo will sort this out.

Another annoyance is that he only decides whether a match is 'a stomp' by total winner's health remaining. I had a few exciting matches when both I and the enemy ran around cored red and deperately tried to outmaouver one another to get that last shot in without getting shot at. Of course immediately after I won or lost duncan became to insult the looser because apparently coring the enemy red does not count as proper fighting.

Running mrm dps monster and shooting people shield arms and torsos off is ok, but go for the CT with a precise build and you can be sure you gonna get insulted on every single defeat, no matter how close the match actually was.

Im loud, I drag out the start of the match, and my commentary is pointless and irritating as you spend several minutes searching for your opponent for a 30-45 second brawl.
Your opinion is noted (and dismissed as worthless), you can however (if no one has already told you about it) turn down the Dialog audio volume and fix it for yourself.

The rest of us will enjoy...

Much like Monkey, I have always liked Duncan. Never skipped a single intro in MW4 Solaris games, as I always had fun just listening and watching.

Also kinda got me in that 'Get ready to fight' state of mind.
