This has happened to me several times now..... 2 last night and now the first two matches this morning.

Damn Urbie literally jumps off my screen at one point.

I see this as a demonstration as to why we need knock down brought back and physical attacks added. The urbie was also bashing into your leg way too much (trying to get under your guns) so there should be SOME risk of being knocked down...

Other than that, the idiot was probably bit torrenting porn in the background which can cause his latency to shift randomly causing HSR all sorts of fits.

Some people don't realize they're doing it, some people I'm sure, are doing it intentionally... Next time, press TAB and watch his ping to see if it's shifting a lot.

I have no problem with him being up under me..... its an urbie. The problem is when I am in my Firestarter a mech that olnly has 5 tons on the Urbie and the damn thing can get up under me. That is a problem. But besides that.

I have no idea why it happened. But it has on several accounts with multiple different mechs. So I dunno. Hard to fight when you can't hit the thing cause it got a speed boost of 500kph

They won't bring knock down back because that would mean adding a knock down animation to every single mech in the game. Perhaps they still have some of the first mechs in beta, but not likely the rest.

pfft practicing 1v1s the other day with crab vs FS9. Couldn't even see a 50tonner under my cockpit lol.

Aye explain to me the volumetric difference between a 30 ton Urbie and a 35 ton Firestarter and why the Urbie is literally half the height and half the width.

To be fair, the knock down mechanic, while a times fun, tended to just be annoying and exploited a hell of alot. I remember when Dragon Bowling was a thing after all. Rush them in your Dragon, hit them at the knees and over they go thus allowing your team to focus fire the now helpless "Turtle" failing about trying to stand before it was killed.

The one thing I do miss about it is that people actually respected your space and players tended to spread out a bit more so as to not trip one another up. Now people just clump up trying to edge each other out to get the kill.

Yeah that excuse is old and tired though. Knockdowns in this game could have been tweaked just like every other aspect of it.

It just requires a little effort...

Yeah, that was good times. Piloting a light was perilous back then. Couldn't just ankle bite an Atlas. He could just bowl you over.

I mean personally I would love some kind of knockdown mechanic because it's more realistic. Hell I would love melee. But realistically given PGI's resources, I just don't see it happening :(

I remember doing full speed JP's into Atlas face/chest. Hit em just right and it'd knock them over too! :-)

Yeah, I have seen 2 players that had lag shielding going on. (commando and shadowcat). It needs to be monitored by PGI.

I had a spider do this to me. He was fine until "something" kicked in and started warping...

I saw that exact same sort of warping from an Urbie in Div 4 as well, the Breach map if I recall correctly. Perhaps its a bug with Solaris?
