Is that honor gone now?

What honor, what are you taking about? You are just a bloodthirsty murderer. Shooting both legs off makes an enemy mech fall down, but the pilot safely ejects. Shooting CT leads to an engine explosion, this is how you kill the pilot. Killing is more honorable? What twisted notion of honor is this? We are all brothers in the Solaris arena, why do you have to kill your fellow gladiators? Are C-Bills given for a win not enough for you unless sprayed with blood? Stop arguing against legging, the most humane way to end a fight. Stop committing the most horrible sin under the guise of honor. Ask forgiveness for those you murdered. Repent! Otherwise you are going to burn in Hell for your senseless slaughter.

Half the reason I go for legs is to slowly teach people to not pack them full of ammo in S7.

If you're talking about the original MechWarrior that I remember playing (as in, the multiplayer version of the first ever MechWarrior made, which I think was titled "Multiplayer BattleTech") the difference is that back in that game if you lose ONE leg, you were done for and the fight was pretty much over as you wound up flat on your back and would never get back up.

In MWO, your opponent needs to take BOTH legs out from under you before it's a wrap, leaving you a fighting chance if you only lose one (unless you're a light). As somebody else already pointed out, taking out both legs technically takes twice as long as going through the center torso. And remember: Just as you can torso twist to spread out the damage, so too can you twist your legs to put a bad one in front of a good one.

Yes, this is correct. In MPBT legging was a legit tactic and used all the time, especially in 4v4 PvE. I never dropped on Solaris in MPBT (I was a hardcore DCMS roleplayer back then, a samurai, not a gladiator) but I had unit-mates that spent a lot of time on Solaris and from what I understood there was a lot of legging there as well.

Some mechs are just easier to leg than others. If your good at torso twisting then your legs will be free game after about the 2nd shot.

But just except this fact.

Expect to be legged and find a way to turn it to your advantage.

Quoting because this is the best response to "But my honour?!" as an argument.

I may have to steal it (but credit you) Posted Image

I was legging people in MW3 (can't recall much MP from MW4) and never got a single complaint.

Maybe people were just more mature back in 1999?

(That was a joke, calm down)

while not all matches in S7 are shoot da leg matches it is quite irritating that a large majority of players are doing just that.

another tip against leggers:

some maps helpfully provide cover for your your legs so try using those when in battle some payers are so leg focused they will not even try shooting you when they cant shoot your legs !!.

boreal and steiner have very helpful places in this regard.

... I take it the OP never played Scouting ;)

Legging has been a tactic since MW3. That said, every one of my wins and loses has been via cored torso.
