Had a Solaris match where a meta follower was unhappy with my build that beat him. To be fair to him, this mech of mine has not lost once against Vindicator-1X. Dear PGI, I was wrong about you. This free Uziel is actually useful! Posted Image

How're you building your Uziel to kill a Vindi? I'm curious because I also have this free mech everyone has. :P

2xLBX10. So simple even a potato can hit something with it.

As a potato I can definitely agree with that, LBX10 can do some damage at any range even if you're a poor shot like me

Just remember, if you are at a range where Vindi's HMG + SPL are doing full damage to you, you are doing it wrong.

I'm just so happy that "A Meta Vindicator" is now a thing that people say on the forums without sarcasm.

It's been a long time coming. Salute.

I was going to say... what is this "Meta" Vindicator?

I love Vindicators in tabletop and the new PC game,but... it ******* sucks in MWO, I'm surprised anyone considered it meta capable.

Looking over the concept art again... /sigh What the hell happened to the Vindy's left hand? In game, it looks like it got stung by a bee or something. NOTHING like the concept art proportion-wise.

Div 7 is choke full of those buggers. People see what the best pilots are bringing, and then copy their builds straight away, without analyzing their own strengths.

Indeed. For example I heard annihilator was the big thing, so I ran that. Had some success, some flops. Met a dire wolf. Got pwned so bad it was disgusting. Ran the annihilator a few more times then pulled out my Dire Skeleton (similar to Dire Cow but with a lot more variety on the guns). Had superb success (considering how little I've played it due to BT; speaking of I'm bouncing on forums during loading times). Only thing I dread is when some guy's got the Dire Wolf hero parts or 6 UAC/5s. Or a certain map.

So what is their build? Maybe it'd work well enough to bring a Vindicator out into quickplay.

Something along the line of this:

This Vindi-1X build is BRADTOTHEBONE's--he is currently #3 in global ranking.

It beats out the best Trebuchet's missile cooldown by an additional 5%, for a 25% missile cooldown. Plus it's smaller. The hitboxes aren't anything to write home about. But it is decidedly smaller than the Trebuchet. While also having those fat armor quirks. Where the Trebuchet only has structure quirks. And it has rate of fire quirks for it's MGs as well as 20% cooldown on it's energy weapons.

They really layered it on. And it's been good in QP when I've used the build. It just wasn't popular in the grand scheme of things. But in a division where it's competition is of relative strength to it. It really shines.

Well it just goes to show what I was saying. PGI absolutely CAN'T take Solaris 7 into account when balancing this game if a Vindy can become a meta mech. The builds used in Solaris often just don't work in QP or FW.

I had a look at the Uziel last night, I was gonna sell it because of how bad everyone said it was but then I thought, most forum posters are dopes so I gave it a chance. It did alright! I almost beat a YLW with the stock snub nose PPC and LB-5X build. I really like that twist, it goes a decent way around, and you get some great lift from the jets even though it takes ten years to recharge. The torsos are exposed definitely, but it was fun pottering about at 88kph. Once I work out a build for it I'll invest the c-bills and sp. God knows I'm not moving up division 1 in my Scorch, so may as well have a laugh with the Uziel.

Please, keep playing D1. The more people that drive those walking death traps the better. I reckon I may have lost one fight so far to a DW but that's ok, because the match before it I snuck up on one poor devil and blew him away in a single alpha. 81 pts of damage means *someone* forgot to allocate back armour :P.

My build's a ranged and close in DPS rig, seismic sensor, etc. At one point I kept creeping up behind another Dire Wolf that seriously outgunned me. If the Gauss Rifles hadn't jammed I pretty much had him despite all the damage he did to me before I managed to get him into a game of cat and mouse.

Most enemies overheat or run out of ammo against me. Unless its a flat out UAC monstrocity, I'm usually pretty well off. Those alpha damage guys can be a handful but I do go for the biggest source of weapons first and I'm no strange to 'disarming' enemies.

Has anyone other than El Bandito actually successfully used this 2xlb10 uziel in div 7?
