Hello everybody,

I reached Tier 3 today. Since MWO is a team-based game, I'd like to thank all my teammates for their help, and my opponents for teaching me what not to do. Now that I will be matched more often with T2 & T1 players, I fully expect another metric sh*t ton of schooling, so thanks in advance Posted Image.

See you on the battlefield,

peekyblinder

Nope, to be honest T3 is the best tier to be in. T1 and T2 are worse.

The tier is a lie. Matchmaker does not care what tier you are in. Tier 1 still get placed in tier 5 matches. It is literally a joke.

Now that you will be playing with more experienced players; things like co-operation, tactics and mech/build choices really start to matter. This game has such a steep learning curve, but now you are over the hump and have many great battles ahead Posted Image

Cool, thanks!

From everything I've read on these forums, it's not unheard of to encounter high-tier players in quick play, even when one is in Tier 5. Now that I will probably encounter much more experienced players more often, I expect to be taken to the woodshed a lot. That's ok though because my philosophy is that you can't get better yourself if you don't play against better players.

See you on the battlefield,

Peeky

I swear that there are tier within tiers. Halfway through Tier 3, it got harder.

To be honest, I lost all of tier 5 before my slow rise up. Someone here asked about the golden (or yellow?) line, something I had never noticed. After a few weeks of trying to play better, I finally saw a tiny bit of gold, and that got me excited.

And then I started an Alt account. I did not know you start in tier 5, almost to tier 4, lol.

Life does get harder. You will see a lot fewer LRMs etc. There will be fewer players on the other team making mistakes.

Congrats again!

Congrats to you. You have attained heights that I have not. Wish you all the best until we face one another.

I doubt I will reach Tier 4. I love bracket builds, I take too many risks. I continue to buy "NEW" Clan Mechs/Omnimechs and try multiple builds before settling on ome, etc, ad nausum.

Congratulations to you. All my best to you until we face one another accrossed a hostile no man's land.

I will doubtful reach or go beyond Tier 4. I favour bracket builds. I take too many chances, continually buy and build Clan Mechs/ Omnimechs before settling on a range of builds, etc, etc, ad nausum.

Wow sorry for the double post thought the Dog ate my homework.

I know someone that sounds a lot like you. It is amazing the number of matches that he has died first in. He has a vast array of Troll builds that are scary. He would/does just try to get one kill in a stupid build.

But, he was having fun and hopefully so are you. He said once he got on the "tier" train, some of his fun left. Posted Image

One thing about who you are playing against in a match. If you are dropping as a single in Quick Play, you will not face players way over or under your tier.

If you drop with a friend, just one, you go into the grouped matches where you can often face players a lot better then you are.

I wish you could drop with some friends and not have to face teams. I also wish we could have a better chat, one you can do links and a "friends only" chat room and a "friends only" LFG.

And one you can RESIZE so you can read and really use it if you want to. Oops, I went ranting...

I loved the puff of time I spent in tier 3 after I got a new computer going from tier 5 to tier 1 in a short period of time. The thing is, PUG's will still do things that you will say, wait what is he doing. Like running off in a direwhale only to be mauled by a locust that does not take 2% damage. Just not as much and even at tier 1 people do strange things.

I have also seen people in the rental mechs while at tier 1, just not as much as tier 3 and below.

So have fun and guess what, I still take LRM boats out most of the time at tier 1 and some people get so mad, on both team. One that I had the audacity to take a LRM boat out and the other that I was just nailing them with LRMs. I believe in fast up front if not right behind the lights, type of LRM support at less than 300 m. I'm one of those LRM boats that will lead a charge and surprisingly people run and let me keep the 180 m range.Posted Image

For me the best fun is the end of the day when I tally all my Kills,Kill Most Damage Done,Kill Assists,Damage, and C-Bills,earned. Not to say I did not enjoy the journey but earning 1.5-3 million C-Bills per day is heart warming especially with 1-5 Kills at least.

Sorry about your misfortune. What is important is not that we get hit but how quickly we get back up.

I still see a lot of silly things happen in T1 matches. Don't be that guy and you'll do fine. The biggest advice is get on comms, lock targets, and learn to focus fire and call out the guy you're shooting.

hey hey, T3. Congrats, and really just put what you've learned to use. Avoid the occasional madman with 300 srms and you'll be good.

See you around.
