I don't understand why a map would have to be "excused". A developer makes what they want and you can like it or not and even provide criticism, but ultimately the only recourse you have is whether you will spend money on the game or not and whether you will log in or not.

~D. V. "Damnit... Why does PGI bury Bug Reports before they're fixed? It makes NO sense!" Devnull
[Minor Edit by Post Author for a mistyped thought.]
UPDATE: I just learned something drastic about that Bug. Everyone reading this, just re-seat your Decals on the Right Arm, and you're good to go. It seems this Bug only affects Decals that were set before the April 2018 Monthly Patch!

You're the only person who's responded to me about this inquiry (even when asking in game--apparently, no one has an Atlas?), and you're the only knowledge I have of any Atlas having been changed, even though the notes say ALL Atlases should've been affected.
Also... what is TWO WHOLE ARMOR to the sides doing to contribute to their stated reason for making the change anyways? Negligible indeed.

Anyhow, wanted to say that on my Jenner IIC, I usually lose an arm before losing a ST, so I wonder if this structure re-design in these mechs will have the desired effect. The same is true for my Cicada, and actually I usually use the arms as shield to protect my ST/CT in them.
Looking at the jenner iic from the side - you can only hit the arm or the leg (or CT), both of which are easy targets. Stripping an arm essentially takes out half its firepower. If you face your target directly though, only then your STs will suffer much.
Data
The data you have appearantly suggests that arms suffer less damage than the ST, which is why you are going for this change. My question is - what source of data do you use? I imagine T5's mostly showing their face in a cicada as they run to an Atlas, but this behaviour will change with experience.
But maybe it's just me noticing this, and I am imagining it that I lose my arm more often than a ST. I won't be able to test it for a long while still, see you guys again in August!
It's definitely a dumb change... a tiny 14 armor and 7 structure in each of my Jenner F's arms, which are the only places to mount weapons?
Meanwhile, my Firestarters have 24 armor and 24 structure in each arm, and they can still fight back if they lose the arm(s).
Who stares down enemies in a fracking Jenner? They're doing it wrong. Now we have to adjust to stupidly face tanking, in a Jenner, and hoping someone doesn't sneeze on our laser ears.
Not to mention, the 'mechs that got their armor values jumbled around are now broken and have to deploy with missing points to armor because it won't retain the saved load-out.

I have no time to log in but I think you can easily check the status of all the Atlas in the Store comparing the amount of armor and structure with another IS 100 tons in the store for comparison, all with clean skill trees.

What was wrong with the 1 minute timer?
At least you could hop last couple of seconds in the queue and try your luck. And if the matchmaker skipped you over, you'd only have to wait another minute.. Or try another queue within a minute.
Solaris is quick fast matches.. Not waiting ages in queues. This is asking for matches with AFK's.
Further more please fix those armor allocations of the recently reallocated mechs. It seems you can't save the armor without it resetting to a lower value on the torso's.

Cut the waiting time down to 2 minutes at least, but let the divisions start at different times. So division 1 starts at 00:00, div 2 starts 30 seconds later and so on. That would guarantee that you dont have to wait longer than 1 minute in any division, and you can make the waiting time longer as well.
If it stays like this i will stop playing solaris. Waited two times 5 min for a match, because there was an odd player number. Also matchmaking did not get any better. There also were no players at all in div 6 and 5, had the impression there were more before.

But now we probably have to wait three minutes instead?!??!

Please fix, this really is a bad change, how can one even think of something like that.
Did you ever play solaris even? How can you think that waiting 6 minutes if you get unlucky can be acceptable.
Most players tend to hop on once the timer is somewhere under 30 seconds. I never click the match search button when its over 1 minute and there is noone else in the queue.
Just stomped some player with a 0,25 W/L ratio when there where even 6 guys waiting for a game, same as before, just waited longer for it.

If now with three minutes 6 people instead of 2 fell into that 180 second window, matchmaking would at least be a little better. I can understand that approach, but it seems this is not enough. Further increasing the possible matchmaking window is not possible because you would indeed wait longer for a match than to actually play it.
The best idea that i have seen so far was spreading the possible opponents not only out time-wise, but also to let the players choose beforehand in which divisions a match would be desirable. So maybe opt in for divisions 2, 4 and 7 with the currently selected mech there and than waiting for a 2 minute window would give some closer (in Elo score) opponent as only waiting in one division for a longer time.
Still, the idea to increase the timer was reasonable. Look at the idea the other way round: If it was reduced to something extremely low, like 3 or 6 seconds, you would almost be guaranteed to get the next player who joins the bucket. As you both end at the same time, it would also be very likely to get the same opponent in the next game. and the next. and so on.
tl;dr: There was a good reason for the increased timer if you think about it. If it does not achive the intended goal more far-reaching changes may be needed

Yes, but now it is universally the worst place to get c-bills and XP... Just like it was to begin with. They made changes to improve those rewards really fast before, now they've once again reduced them down to where they were.

I do get the idea behind it but in my experience there is hardly anyone at all in D4 and lower, and prior to this change easily half if not more of my queues timed out and restarted. So basically now there's a good chance i'm going to wait three minutes and still end up with the same opponent had i just waited one minute!
Its Typical complete lack of logic and common sense that PGI repeat time and time again. Its repeated {LT-MOB-25} ups like this that have driven a lot of folk to Battletech as far as i can tell.

I'm sorry, I saved money on my weekly shopping by cutting my purchases down to £7 just so I'd have more money to spend on this game this week, but after this, I think I'll use the money for something else this week and in future.
Also, I want my horns back, or removed and given an MC refund, though I doubt either of them is in the cards.
Rita Repulsa just isn't the same without her oversized horns.
