Can we at least have a little yes / no poll among the people who actually bought the damn thing? :(

I never even saw anyone asking for this change? Was it all just on twitter?

Plenty of people asked for it in the preview on these forums.

All things PGI happen on Twitter.

What gets me is, their response time suggests they had both models sitting around and intentionally avoided the DOA Uziel style hitboxes, but people need their garage queen, I guess.

Welp, guess I won't be buying one when it comes out for C-Bills. This thing is going to get its STs blown off ridiculously easily, and doesn't really do anything the MCII can't do (except ECM, I guess) besides like, LB50X?

I actually liked the smaller shoulder pods, they were a good height but not overly pronounced. Hope whoever was asking for this change actually intends to play the mech, instead of wanting it to look like the picture just so it looks pretty in the Mechbay.

You know this game's community well enough to know the answer to that, don't you? :P

I'm also looking forward to the the "WTF it looks beautiful now but why do I die so easily" reactions once the changes go live.

Well ****...

Oh well, I guess it does looks nicer, even if that means I won't be playing it that much after the "fix" Posted Image

PGI was already laughing at the aesthetics-warriors, back in the 15th patch.

Quote

"Thursday, in a demonstration for Clan Star Adder(a major purchaser of the Blood Asp), several MechWarriors noticed that the shoulder cannon housing had dynamic sizing based on the equipped weapons. Concerned pilots gave valuable feedback and the manufacturer listened! Huzzah! Production experts at the manufacturing plant have noted the increase in materials used and they anticipate a 2% increase in costs across this production run. The Lead 'Mech designer at the Facility is quoted as saying 'the size of the shoulder mounts will now match the Mechwarrior's Ego.' Since the manufacturing process has been adjusted, the QA managers have assured us that those who deploy in the first run of production of the Blood Asp will now 'look good when they die.'

I guess the primary question, for me, is, is there precedent of PGI refunding Mechpacks due to model changes?

Performance wise the Asp was already inferior in every possible way to the Mad Cat II other than ECM.

At least now, it looks good.

Nice recovery, PGI.

Hopefully they give it a few armor quirks

It looks much better now! I would've been happier if the housings were kept their original length but the gun barrels instead made to be as long as the housings are, but sticking out that length. It wouldn't increase the side torso hitbox as much as this solution, but it looks much better nonetheless. I might buy it now Posted Image

Let's fix the Cougar's arm-mounted laser barrels next, please!

I wouldn't mind just a little bit of durability quirk as set of 8 bonus. Like the Dire Whale.

The mech will be fine, its about time it got fixed to look awsome. And its clan tech so its not much nerf making the gauss stick out, simply poke up hills or face before peeking out. No mech should be built around meta gaming

Is the third image supposed to be the 'fixed' version?

Cos this mech just went from a 10 to a 6.5 for me

The non-ECM variants are really shafted in comparison to the 2 ECM variants. If (do something about it) then (whale status=active).

Making a Gauss stick out is quite a bit more punishing if the Mech in questions gets zero durability quirks and a half health Gauss rifle, actually.

That was my thought exactly, this is just going to make it stupidly easy to destroy the side torsos. And people are actually celebrating this change? Do they even play this game?

It's a shame because I was really interested in buying this (for cbills, obviously).

Starting to regret buying them.

But I do expect that if you did advertise a product, and one of the draws is the looks for it, you should legally expect that the delivered product to look like it.

If you look at the first post, they are making good on the ST shape, it'll be exactly as advertised. Everyone will get their cool casket soon!
