Work has sucked royally the last two weeks, haven't had much time for art but I'll try having something by tonight to add to the gallery.

Suggest re-posting on Fan Creations after the deadline, this topic just keeps getting buried in General Discussion. I have to back track links in Deviant Art to find it.

good idea. Down side is the Fan Art section is a graveyard, but maybe a chat with Tina could get this pinned, or made into a link to the Fan Art section.

also still would be nice to have all the submissions, with links to the posts for each, in the OP. Have a feeling stuff buried deeper might suffer vote-wise just from lack of "front page new".

Finally done.



I borrowed some elements from the Night Gyr. Rationale for that being is they are both jumpy Jade Falcon mechs from the same year.

Don't sell yourself short. That Langur looks a crap load better than the TRO entry. there is a reason I've never even tried to mess with that one.

Thanks. PLOG adds too many damn details to a lot of his designs I find and its a bit hard for me to find the shapes that are supposed to be there.

I was going to do the Blood Kite (which looks better in FM:CC) but I wanted to enter Category B and realized that it would qualify for category A. But the Blood Kite is another mech where PLOG put a **** ton of details all over the thing.

Plus I didn't want to draw 45 missile tubes anyway.

But my greatest failing is that I can't be arsed to use a ruler most of the time.

I sometimes find rulers hamper rather than help, your creating a 3D image on a 2D surface so your brain sometimes has trouble making that angle just right.

Well- when I use a ruler I often draw in pencil first then go over with pen. But, something always gets lost in translation. I find my drawings often look best when I'm just sketching in pencil, they don't look as accurate sometimes but they have better energy to them. But for lines I think it's better to do it in photoshop or coral draw where erasing means hitting alt-z and little else. Or if you want to be really precise, do it in illustrator though there you wont get thick and thin on the same line

You shouldn't either. If I was judge here for Cat B, I personally like Crimson Languras my first place, then your entry as second place. (No offense to anyone else, I just like how those turned out better, but it's close.)


If anyone here doesn't stand a chance, I think it may be me in Cat A.

And... SO MANY LAST SECOND ENTRIES! It's kinda cool to look at everyone's work though. And kinda funny to see how we each think everyone else did better than ourselves...
