I really wish I had even the slightest bit of a chance at some of these competitions, but I have no talent for directed art. (my art just happens, and I never know what it is until it's done)

Question for you about "judging".

Are you looking for potential "redesigns" of currently existing mechs? Or are you more so looking for being able to depict a currently existing mech in as close as possible (new pose or dynamic) manner?

Just wondering, because the mech I was working on, I wanted to give it a torso twist ability, similar to what PGI did with the Nova and Kit Fox.

Edit: Or are you just looking for "pretty pictures of mechs"?

Question for you about "judging".

The quality and creativity of the art (but I would like to be able to know the mech from the art if that makes sense, so nothing SUPER crazy, you know like making the Scorpion a biped!)

Naw, just a reworking of torso mounted legs to a pelvis mounted leg system. Much like the Nova from lore to this game. This is presuming even that I can do this. I've drawn very few mech (or even mechanical) pictures and so far only had one successful picture. But hey... I can try and see what happens, right? Maybe get back into drawing again even!

Me? Be afraid of wherever jjm1 lands, not me. But since his taste has usually been in Clan Mechs... I'm already feeling him breathing down my neck and wishing I'd stayed nice and predictable with a 3025 era machine. I got ZERO chance against his stuff. I really don't expect a fluke win like I somehow pulled against Shimmering Sword way back when in the Marauder Redesign contest.

Hell, Alex put the Stalkers legs on backwards... I think a working torso/pelvis is a given in anything on MWO.

Hell, Alex put the Stalkers legs on backwards... I think a working torso/pelvis is a given in anything on MWO.

I think Alex only put one of the legs backwards, cause i'm pretty sure one of the Stalker's leg bends normally and the other bends like a chicken.

At least the Stalker II art by Shimmy fixes the awkwardness of the original Stalker and makes it a proper chicken walker, like the Alex's version.
I do Stalker II was a retcon art refit and not a separate mech, but whatevs.

The Stalker's legs are actually rather unique in that they bend BOTH WAYS. Kinda makes for a strange gait, but why not with mechanical machine legs, right? No real knee cap you need to worry about for structural integrity.
