It did... one of the reasons I'm not playing as much anymore... other teammates tend to frown on team damage...

[IDI] was the living embodiment of the opening lines of Twenty One Pilot's "Tear in My Heart":

"Sometimes you gotta bleed to know
That you’re alive and have a soul
But it takes someone to come around
To show you how"

Lol well MT if you ever find yourself on the clan side on mondays, and need a group to drop with let me know.

I have most of the time played as a solo in this mode, even if it was a long while ago. Heavy obstacles in the beginning. through time ìt wont take very long until you start skilling up mechs in this mode. The protectionists will never agree with you Movin. "-How will it look for me if I suddenly start to fail in my constructed reality?" Fp was for me a fast way to skill up mechs and I dont think this have changed much since good old phase 2.

Player agreement can never be a solution, however how much I agree with you! It will take some effort from PGI as well!

I would like to see PGI offer Comp FP to the units or offer a warning allowing you to leave penalty free if you do not to drop against 12 members of EVIL.

If PGI still wants to continue with the status quo, I foresee a time when myself and others just keep deleting those FP calls to action. Units enjoy your hour wait times for a game.

Nobody really enjoys dropping against a full 12 man stacked team, unless you're on a stacked team of your own.... but I'm not sure if the population has enough players to support more than 1 full stacked team at this point. EVIL doesn't ever drop as a 12 man, I've never seen more than 5-6 of them on at once. It's usually a combination of EVIL, BCMC, and whoever else happened to be online at the time.

Having played with that group occasionally, the real advantage to it is that you know nobody on your team is going to be doing stupid stuff. If you want your team to do a certain strategy, you can just say it at the beginning, and everyone will do it. Everyone has the mechs required to do pretty much every strategy. Wanna do an assassin rush? Sure! Wanna do all Annihilators? Sure! If you drop as a 6 man, very often the 6 pug guys you get are absolutely terrible, and will seriously drag you down. It is extremely frustrating to play a great game and still lose, because your teammate did 200 damage total over 4 mechs. It's comforting to know that you don't need to carry dead weight across the finish line.

The game's population is just so low unfortunately, that if players who know what they're doing stack together into a single group, there really aren't enough other skilled players for them to oppose. So it often ends in a pretty one sided stomp that neither side really enjoys.

So heed the FP Warning screen?

Bring proper builds (you don't).
Get into a group (you don't)
Work as a team (you don't)
Be prepared to face organised/skilled opposition (you aren't).

The only real issue there is you.

Maybe a 12vs12 solaris mode where you get to vote off fellow players with terrible builds until you get full 12. Then 1vs1 and you get to drop when your team mate dies.

Hanging around for the company. Nothing much to play for in FP in my time zone. Waiting for MW5 to hit the stores.

I like it... hell ive even enjoyed the fight. Most of the time if its me solo pugging and its against a 12 man i still lile to make a fight of it. Plus, most of the time (except KCOM) if im last man, they will honor a 1v1 at the end. So good times.

Do you really think avoiding playing good teams will mean the game will grow and folks will get better? Who do you think will queue up against the big bad Evils (who never have twelve man btw anymore)? There are already a few units that avoid good teams and prefer to stomp pugs as is, and the mixed groups of Evil and friends should not be restricted from playing the game because they are good.

Hey didn't you recently beat one of those stacked teams on Hellbore where your performance was particularly clutch?

Those stacked teams can also be caught off guard by light rushes and even the dreaded gen rush...

Right now there are actually a few heros who are actively getting groups together with the best guys they can find or scrape together and some of those teams appear to be getting stronger and more cohesive.

Am honestly of the opinion if we could drive out the pure yolo potatoes and perennial terribads, the game would better off.

Lol yea, but I'm starting to realize that for most people, pulling a 2K+ game with 8+ kills is not realistic against those uberteams, so suggesting "git gud" isn't realistic. Hell, I was pugging with a few fellow HHoD members who felt it was unrealistic to expect all team members to pull 1k damage.

Personally, I enjoy the challenge of trying to drag some puggles to victory against their will (seemingly at least, they seem to actively sabotage me at times) but I think that's a pretty uncommon opinion. So probably saying "Nobody" enjoys it is wrong, but I'm trying to look at it from a different perspective. I should probably say 90% of people don't enjoy it.

Hey All

Is there a pathway in a game for a new player to get to faction.

It seems to me that it is totally dependent on running into the right team.

The players need to have more stewardship, taking responsibility for owning the experience for all players
this goes especially for those who get down on noobs. They dont know what is stupid unless you educate them.

Thanks for considering.

Hey man I was complementing you so no need to be modest, you pulled over 3k that match.

My comment is also that while you clearly were the star that match (overall not just for your team), you guys were on defense, and dug in well.

People don't have to git gud to win. They merely need to actually think. I am not particularly great but I pay attention. Recently was in a match were our twelve were beaten (by one, single, point) on Polar conquest.

It is frustrating though when you have players that have been at it for years and for whatever reason think pulling 1k each is an unreasonable task. I mean you get four mechs for crying out loud, and 250 a mech is pretty reasonable.

First it is great to hear that you are running groups and getting people together. Ad hoc groups get better by playing together and guys like Yondu have been able to field competitive teams by reaching out and making friends with good players. Friends I have from MORB have told me you are pretty much the hero keeping IS going past 11pm est.

As far as stewardship goes, hold on and step back. I am not responsible for new player experience nor should it ever be placed on my shoulders.

You played against us tonight on Grim Portico on attack, and your group refused to leave the drop zone. This 'your teams too good, no fair bs' is no bueno. If you want to talk about responsibility and you are interested in getting people together to play, that is going about it the wrong way. It's why we reject your friend invites and why when on the same side we don't have discourse when in the same drop.

If you are truly interested in what to do, try your hardest every match. Pay attention when grouped up with good players what they are doing aaaand ask them stuff. Take note on common defenses and strats on maps. Try and get your group to follow a plan and especially try and get them on the same page. Having two guys in your group that think bringing brawling builds to Grim Plexis while the rest of you are mid range trade with some range support is not worth it. Having that guy in your group that insists on bringing lrms to every map on every mech is not worth it (lurms easy to pick on but that sniper all the time guy is the same). Do you see the theme here? You want to focus on getting people to play together instead of just with each other. Tough as it may seem, build your team around people who will listen and work together and don't invite those that won't. You are better off finding pugs who might be interested in working with you.

Don't forget as well that more you do to gain experience as a player, the better leader you will become. One of the things that made me a better player was by popping by other units TS and dropping with them to see how they do things and learn more about the game. BCMC is on Cobra hub and I would be willing to at least talk with you a bit and if I am ever able to go IS again I'd take you along for a bit.
