It is stock mode with chassis' upto 3039 production year only.

I predict that participation from the historical comp. teams will be non-existent, whether this encourages others to step up and compete we will have to wait and see but somehow I don't think it bodes well for the future of MWO' official Comp-scene.

Nice! Stock mode. Poor souls that cant handle stock loadouts. All about hyperalphameta max frontload pinpoint, thisshouldbetheonlywaytoplay mindset and whatnot.
I hope thes... l33t comp teams have the guts and stuff to dare pilot stock mechs.

Thinking about it....
The amount of customization in MWO truly have made us spoiled brats.. *cough*

No, stock mode sounds like a realy fun challenge, heck a bit more slower paced and can make head for new tactics and strategies. Higher TTK even which seems to be something people desire, even maybe in comp.
I would love to actually watch the whole WC this time.

You're kidding right? Even stock mechs will have a meta, just nobody will want to practice with them. Good job putting off anyone who has the skill level to actual make the tournament interesting.

No Clan Tech, stock mode only...
and no heroes at all?
Interesting.

It should be better to watch, and removes the balance issues inherent in Clan/IS tech differences.

What does IS/Clan balance got to do with competitive mwo?

Competitive Mechwarrior Online minus the mechlab. Good luck with that.

I really like the stock mode idea, frankly. Forces some other more creative comps, even with stock mech 'metas' and allows for some non-reigning designs to get some limelight-hopefully.

Ah crap. Annie might be a super popular choice though.

I wish the limit was just to 3039. Let people mechlab the mechs, but with restricted tech (and most notably, SHS).

I like Clan mechs. Im banned from comp!

Im rather new to the game and dont own a variety of these mechs that are not meta except in a stock comp scene. I cant play comp !

I Have the cbills to buy these mechs but not the mech bays, i cant play comp.

I have the mech bays but not the cbills, cant comp.

I have the mech bays and the cbills but not the GSP, 20ish days till comp ,starts, i dont have time to level 8 mechs for comp roles, thats nearly 3 mechs a day !

Did i go to far ? no ? ok 1 more.

Stock mode for comp coz want us to have to spend $$$ to play comp, as pewdiepie would say... hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

07 rant over.

Yep definitely gonna be a good idea with all those shaved/backloaded armor, SHS/STD only, 1-2 tons of ammo when in MWO you usually need 3 times more because 2xHP compared to tabletop with quirks on top of it but damage is same. Not to mention all those “beer units” you’re aiming at are likely don’t have these mechs bought. Way to go PGI... Way to go...

Actually pretty excited for stock mode. Will quirks be enabled? I think this is important for players wanting to practice since skills and consumables are going to be enabled.

Yes you’ll have to skill all of these third line mechs after you buy them if you want to have any chance.

I was wondering if they were going to have a Solaris "bragging rights" bracket setup for this event too. I would not be surprised to see this happening either.

Stock loadouts are fine. Well, fine in the fact that they all kind of suck and are not optimized for MWO. So that should give a leveled playing field for the tournament. And it will force the teams into different tactics too. So I am not all that concerned. It will be nice to see what the really great players can do with the bad builds they are handed to.

Nice to see this thing still has legs underneath it... Happy to be a supporter again!

It will be a breath of fresh air as far as the game is concerned.

It's a shame that people feel you have to have the Mechlab to play and enjoy the game.

Well done to pgi for attempting to force the hand of the comp teams into playing something outside their comfort zone, to prove that they are that good and not just taking advantage of the meta as such.

The only issue I see if people actually do step up, is as has been pointed out already, is that we will only see a small portion of mechs with specific fire power capabilities.

Come on pgi, let's go one better.
Make it a bit more tt and have mixed companies 3/3/3/3 and specify no more than 2 of any mech per team.

That would make for really interesting tactical play I reckon.

Stock Mode Tournament - another clear Sign that PGI is about to let MWO die.
Who are those Stock Mode Users anyway? Maybe 50 People out of the 1000 which does still play this Game?
