Just a heads-up, I tripped over a Website Bug... The Article itself on the Website News is not properly linked to this thread, albeit that the Website News List does link here correctly.

Oh, here is the little bugger.

It looks like you changed the design a little bit to differentiate it from the Locust - looks good!

Just a friendly reminder for collector or ultimate pack owners:

Do not sell the Flea-17 (the non special one) before the Flea event is over, or you're missing out on some million !

Wonder how much of that breadbox is ct vs st? I guess we'll all see in a week, now won't we? :P

Either way, thanks for the Flea. It will have a welcome home in my collection.

what's the excitement for? is there one thing the Flea can do better than a locust could? not saying it's going to be bad, im just looking what new it's bringing to the table. the tonnage you have to play with doesn't leave much to tinker - often can't even strip the arms like you could on a pirates bane.

8 mg's is going to be amusing, for 2 minutes until running out of ammo.
missile flea has an advantage over the locust for being able to strip arms. But to pick one over a commando?

admittedly, im hoping for good laser quirks on the Fire Ant, this could give rise to a 3x MPL build -- but doubt it will compete with the commando. it's unlikely that the mpl would be a proper weapon for Flea.

I sure hope that the MASC is super responsive for Flea, giving it godly mobility. if not, it's a failed locust. if it does, it allows for a new light playstyle: teleporting. could be good if MASC didn't affect fleas weapons.

Nonetheless, can't wait to see them in game. Lights are my favorites after all.

First 20toner to have mask. With speed tweak and max engine, its going to be fastest light in the game when its turned on.
Most fleas have more weapons then the Locus and I'm excited since well i only brought my first Locus like 2 days ago.

the maximum speed isn't going to be cutting edge IMO for this 20 tonner. Anything over 160 kph with a tiny frame is going to be difficult to hit. I'm keeping fingers crossed for responsive MASC :) Make faster and sharper turns, teleport around your enemy as opposed to circling around like a playful dog like regular lights would.

Feel bad for everyone who buys these. Release week will be full of streak boats making it very hard to enjoy your new toy.

Good to see it didn't skip leg day - with such chunky legs it's still going to be tiny to fit with the volumetric whatsitcalled thingy

Well, flea engine is capped at 170. Locust has 190. However, 190 (XL) is 2 tons more than 170, and the Masc I comes at 1 slot / 1 ton. So with the locust you have a sustained max speed, with the flea on the other hand you can take one heatsink or laser more and still get the speed boost for the few times you need it.

Apart from the speed discussion, the hardpoints are the real deal. The flea may still fall with hitboxes/scaling, but i am optimistic for now

Don't forget that a 170 engine needs an additional external heatsink. So both mechs have the same usable tonnage to play with when using max engines.

This thing will still need MASSIVE quirks to be viable in any way... I'm sure the streakboats will be out on release...

Well, the quirks are out... I just don't see this mech having any possible role other than "target"
