[Redacted] take a paper launch a game and put a 1 cross each time you see 2 Hgauss build, make an other column put a cross each time you see a clan vomito now take a calculator and count [Redacted]

Well i dont have to do that.
Just watch someone that actually can play this game like Proton or Writhenn on twich and see what they drive.

That is the Point and since weeks you can see also that amount of LURMs in FP, so also lots of dual HGR but realy only some 1x94 Alpha builds. PGI should check their Numbers! Posted Image

Just did a match in my Storm Crow and since Clan lasers are so OP that they need to be nerfed, I charged forward and alpha-striked a Mech and I was absolutely astounded that my OP lasers did not kill that Mech outright. After that I fired on another Mech, but my armor melted away like my Mech was made out of paper! I really would love to see these amazing players who are able to kill everything with their OP Clan lasers!

Just watch out for Lurm-Gods sacrificing their armor for some extra tons of missiles. Cause that is how this game has to be played now.

my response to the changes can be taken as a quote from the great movie billy Madison

"what you just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things ive ever heard at no point in your rambling incoherent responce where you even close to anything that could be conciderd a rational thought everyone in this room is now dumber for haveing listend to it..... i award you no points.. and may god have mercy on your soul....."

in other words.. im against these changes... STRONGLY .. against them

The changes are WAY too much, especially to ERML's. Grats. You've turned my Marauder IIC into something that hits like an IS heavy, is less durable, has worse heat management and slower cooldowns.

Clans OP.

Seriously these changes are absolute trash. I cannot express how stupid this is and how much it's making me regret coming back to and spending money on this game. For the sake of what? Nerfing one build that exchanges a giant alpha for terrible heat management? I've ONLY started seeing the 92/94 point alpha mechs in the game after PGI posted about them... so it hardly constitutes a 'metagame' and more a 'gimmick.' And you know what? Those mechs were really not that scary. Their alpha, even skilled ends them up with something like 80% heat, so a coordinated team beats that every time. On top of that, they're slow assault builds so once they hit that alpha, they can't extricate themselves from any situation they've gotten themselves into... Oh, and they're Clan with low-*** hardpoints. So what happens in the REAL game, not in PGI theorycraft land is this...

Direwhale/MKII peeks and trades. Someone on team goes, "Ow. Damn. Dire Wolf Delta is running gauss vomit and he just peeked over here." Team acknowledges this while the mech spends the next seven hours cooling off... Then either some flankers lock him up and the team pummels him with LRMs, keeping him suppressed, or he peeks again and gets hosed by the entire team before he can get back into cover. At that point, he's probably got open side torsos and falls back to second line, maybe getting a third alpha off before someone takes him down while he's spending his next seven hours cooling off.

The 94 alpha is just not that dominant. I don't think I've ever been out damaged at the end of the game by a player running that if I'm using any of my assaults (Before anyone accuses me, I don't use LRMs. I'm usually going laser vomit or dakka.) The bottom line is that it's a gimmick. It's not really that effective. It's probably fun for the person using it because they one-shot that Blackjack that one time or something... but it's too high heat to provide sustained damage.

One gimmick build with pretty suspect effectiveness is not a reason to nerf half the mechs in the game and literally kill some of them entirely. Parity between Clan alphas and IS alphas means no one will play Clans because their mechs do not have the frankly ridiculous bonuses that IS chassis get. Please explain to me, PGI, why I would want a mech that costs more, is less durable and does the same damage... because honestly, I don't understand the reasoning.

I like the changes.

So what they did was reduce those ridiculous medium/small laser clan alphas, reduce some damage per heat. Remember how clan heavies can carry 20-24+ double heat sinks and thats why sustained dps will still be better with clan lasers. Range is also on the clan's side. Aaaaaaaaand! we have a huge large laser alpha strike buff for the clans.

All is good. We are just not supposed to use lasers for all our needs anymore see?

With 20-24 double heat sinks where do you fit the 'ridiculous amounts of lasers?'

Mediums weren't the problem. Small lasers especially, have already been nerfed into the ground. This change is mostly just another nerf to lower tonnage clan energy mechs, which were already pretty damn scarce since all of their tonnage efficient weapons got turned into paperweights last year.

You know, I used to enjoy playing the viper. I may have been one of the only ones, but it was fun back when 8 tons of weapons could actually do decent damage.

Err like on that hellbringer and ebon jaguar that i have in my roster? no? Both with 8-9 lasers on board. 6 erml 2 hll, 6erml, 2 lpl, 9medpulse etc. All works on those clan mechs so yes they have super cooling in their weight bracket and this provides an advantage in sustained laser dps simply because the IS laser boats in this weight range have less then 20 dhs.

Mediums definately were the biggest cancer of this game.

HBR and EBJ are usually the least concern for me, unless the HBR decides to go after me... They may be very effective, but they aren't the "overpowerd superweapons" they're being portrayed as. Heck, they're some of the easiest mechs to kill because of their hitboxes and component/weapon health.

I invite you to play IS light and compare.
Except Grinner all light IS are bad it's a big joke.
8 tons of weapons on innerspere light it's a dream or you end at 80 KPH.
An useful light it's an ecm carrier.

What if...they're 'rebalancing' Clan lasers to make way for IS Omnimechs? :o

I mean they haven't announced a new mech. Which is weird for PGI. lol

And I invite you to stop hiding your tier on your forum profile.

IS lights have the IS mpl the only laser that hasn't been nerfed to complete uselessness. Javelin with 4mpl (8tons btw) 153kph high torso mounts, better than most clan lights with a good pilot. Osiris can do it too with more jumpjets. I even enjoyed playing the obscure panther 9r with its crazy rate of fire laser fist. Almost all of which are faster or better armored than all clan lights. The mpl is the last refuge of fast IS striker lights, it has a good dps and duration and wont overheat you after a single shot.

That said it is clearly the exception that proves the rule. Light mechs have no weapons left except the ones that can boat mgs, a few mpls or play the six laser peekaboo particularly well with high agility. PGI repeatedly nerfing low tonnage builds just drives away talented light pilots. Which are the rarest players in this game because their playstyles are constantly getting ****** with just to balance the meta assaults. This is happening on both sides though not just IS and not just Clan

I have nothing to hide, old account but you can search in game with a name. ( this not work on you)
And tier is not base on performance but played games so was the point to search to add this.
Panther the worst hardpoint in the game.
Javelin heat problem low speed if you try to exploit all hardpoint.
Or you end with 20 alpha for a light 35 tons.
Only wlf2 and grinner are good.
Or i can take pir1 mlxg and it become really more simple.

Well several of them have XLs. And laser vomit is what they're most likely to die from. Plus more people might be interested in buying them if their Clan mechs are 'unfun' after the changes.

if i could give my 2 cents on a solution that may be the best of both viewpoints (that of pgi, and that of people against these changes), leave mpls were they are, or come down a bit (so between 7 and 6.5 dmg) and have medium lasers closer to 6 damage. then you can justify the higher heat and duration a bit better, and it only moderately hurts the smaller clan mechs boating 3-4 medium lasers by only 1 dmg each laser boated.

also nix those large laser ghost heat changes, as they just mean any final numbers on the laser dmg nerfs arent bypassed by switching out a erml with an erll.

as for the small laser damage nerf, oh ya, im 100% behind that one. clan small lasers should not do the same damage as ISml's for half the weight. thats just common sense, change that dmg number and adjust heat/duration/range accordingly.
