[Garfuncle]

I found a use for the IS LBX 20 and it so happens to be on the Annihilator. 2LBX20 and 2 SNPPCs for 60 damage and no ghost heat:

It eats anything within 270 meters as the spread of the LBXs is negligible at that range. It's a shame about the amount of slots the weapon takes, but I guess it makes my Godzilla unique.

IS LB20-X with 11 slots is nonsense.
So is every other LB-X including those clan versions.
We need a LB-X pellet damage increase.

The UACs give too much face time, and are burst fire so yuck. I prefer clicking once to fire everything with no ghost heat, with similar velocities, and same CDs. Then I can twist away to roll damage and then return fire at 4 seconds.

The burst time of UAC10 is 0.33 sec for a double tap.
If this was an issue no laser vomit would have ever worked.

So those Scorch/MK.2 builds with dual LB20s are bad I take it from forum warriors? I didn't say that the IS LBX20 is good, it just works on one mech is all I'm saying. That needs to be addressed.

Ill say this and i think every scorch pilot would agree with me.

If you could take same tonnage worth of srms and fire them without ghost heat, they would. Hell even 4 extra srm6 instead of 2 lb20x would be better.

Agreed. The designation with 5, 10 etc are the amount of pellets, right? If so, just up the dmg per pellet OR increase crit dmg/ chance/ multiplier.
But also slot reduction on the biggest. 10 slots for IS lbx 20 at least. So it could fit with LFE for the heaviest mechs at least.

The problem with IS LBX is related to the cost of fitting it.

If it were 10 slots like an AC20, it wouldn't be bad.

LB20 works on a mauler, too. This isn't optimized, but it works as an ambusher.

Also, I wish we could all get away from these threads where someone says a weapon doesn't work, but doesn't give any consideration to the rationale for choosing the weapon in the first place. Does the LB family work in general for PPFLD or opening round trading? No. It wasn't ever supposed to.

Sure, the maps, the play styles, and the mechanics of MWO make certain weapons more useful in general, but sometimes it's a lot of fun to make a specialist build using a specialist weapon like the LB20.

Only one thing really wrong with your argument there... LFE and IS LB-20X cannot be mounted together, unless you found a way to cheat the crit system...

LB-20X is 11 crtis
LFE is 2 crits in each ST

together you are going to need 13 crits in one ST, to bad the ST's only have 12 crits...
