The Awesome. Lets Make It Awesome Again.

It is the relatively slow torso rotation causing its crosshairs to lag behind the circle when shifting aim. A person can perfectly shift their aim to bear on a target, only to have to wait a split second for the torso's rotation to catch up. That split second can be the difference between the awesome being useful and completely worthless.
The awesome has a small engine cap and low top speed. It doesnt have a ton of hardpoints. Its acceleration isnt that great. It doesn't have a lot of tonnage to boat a !@#%load of weapons. Its hitboxes arent great. It isnt versatile like the stalker which can mount a huge variation of weapons.
Give the awesome faster torso rotation, please. Being able to snap aim better, like say the linebacker, is what the mech lacks and could make all the difference in the world.

Anyone remember when the Pretty Baby had 200* torso twist?
Good times...
Yep not any more.
Or when it was given 400% torso twist speed and great acceleration at the cost of terrible brakes? ...God it was so easy to climb the big formations of Tourmaline Desert and "leap" off of them to attack people from up high, especially since not even lights could get up there thanks to the fact that your brake speed also determines how quickly you're brought to a stop during hill climbing...
Awesomes could use some love again.

Mounts are currently near to cockpit level. Raising them above the cockpit doesn't help anything. Cockpit needs line of sight to enable targeting.
Quicker torso twist is what is needed here.

No, they're not. They're a good space below cockpit level. So many times I've chuffed terrain on them sagging PPCs. Course the projectile and terrain hitboxes don't help either. But their placement requires you to expose quite a bit.

Cue image which show torso mounts near to cockpit level.

Let's say the awesome had higher mounts. That gives it no advantage over a blood asp, kodiak 3 or assault mech which already have high mounts. That would only turn the awesome into an inferior version of the blood asp or kodiak 3: which is lame. It also doesn't make sense as mounts are already high in comparison to other assaults, especially ones with low slung arms like the atlas.
Having a quicker rate of torso twist would give the awesome an advantage over other assaults. It could make the awesome viable on a skill and learning curve basis.
The question here: is the goal to make the awesome like an inferior version of other assaults mechs which already have high mounts, or is it to make the awesome viable and give it advantages to call its own.
Which is your preference?

What it needs are the same things that ALL mechs with bad Hitboxes and/or low mounts need - (But only some actually possess, like the Orion.) Namely, Armor and Agility advantages over similar tonnage mechs. Giving the Awesome 90 to 95 ton effective armor, and/or Marauder/Thanatos level agility would go a long way towards making it a usable brawler-ish mech.
Except for the 8Q - That things was, is, and shall forever be a PPC Boat. In Leiu of the above quirks, I'd give monster PPC quirks to the 8Q, even larger than currently are found on the mech. Make the thing a Veritable Sniping Powerhouse, capable of putting more lightning bolts downrange than nearly any other mech. It's other poor features will keep it in check.

Oh wow, that trailer. I didn't visit the forums or the website much in first few years, and didn't see this trailer, but boy, does it look good. I get that they put dev effort and money in more important stuff than trailers, but still kind of feels sad.
