Just had a match with 4 Piranhas on the enemy team.
OH NO OP!!!!!!! THEY ARE TOO STRONK!!!!!
NOT!! 1 streak boat, and it ripped them apart. They managed 1 kill between 4 of them, top damage was 170

You never ran 8-12 MGs on ANY IS light because none can do it. 4 MGs is nothing compared to 12. Its not even a comparison.
In other words, if you havent tried it you really dont know lol.
My IS mech doesn't need 12 mgs when it has a 45% rof on mgs. 4 mgs do just fine and when you add on the 4 spls they do even better. Name any IS mech that can boat the same number of any clan weapon while having the exact same stats. None do. That's just the tech difference.
I've been using mgs on lights since the rvn 4x and spider were the first lights to have just mgs. How long have you been using mgs?

Your point fails to consider that I can get no where near this level of performance form ANY other light mech thats trying to occupy a similar role. I also don't believe lights are in a bad place. Of course they wont be as good as a medium/heavy/assault because they are not suppose to be. They have other strengths and roles in the game.
Why aren't they supposed to be that? Just because heavy and assault pilots chime that from the roofs that lights have to be inferior or because it is your personally opinion?
Which roles? Drive-by-shooting? A fast medium can do it better.Scouting? Pfff give me a break. Capping? Prepare to get flamed by your team.
You reflect in one post basically everything which is wrong when people look at lights. Heavies and assaults would love to run 4 back armour, wear lol-alpha-tunnel vision goggles and ignore a light which sneaked up on them and rakes their back.
And one more thing to make it clear: A PIR1 cannot kill a heavy or assault by backstabbing if either it...
1. it begins to turn when he hears the MG pings
2. has more back armour
3. and especially not!!! when it has invested in crit reduction in the survival tree

You are talking **** because no IS 'Mech with 4x MGs has a 45% RoF quirk. Highest is the Ember at 25%, which yields you 5 DPS with MGs and 7 DPS with HMGs, neither of which measures up to the 8 or 12 you can get on the Clan versions before factoring in their own lasers, all of which have higher DPS relative to their IS counterparts.
It's night and day how potent the MLX-G is versus an Ember, and that's the closest comparison you can make between the two.

Saw someone pilot a Flea and imo way better than Pir 1. The Flea is like the Tie Fighter to the Pir's X-wing
Wish I had it.
Edit: Pir is potato masher T3 and below. Usually they got no clue why they blowing up

Javelin. 4 X Streak SRM2. Fire three to four times and pretty much any Piranha will explode very easily.
...Wolfhound is far more dangerous actually more powerful than any of light mechs we have, but it seems many people are still not realizing it.

I came to this game to play Mechs - you know, giant robots that stomp on cars, break buildings and fire BFGs Howitzer heavy artillery-calibre guns at each other. What I did not want to play or fight against are things slightly bigger than Marvel's Ironman that go up to 3 times my speed, yet kill me just as quickly as a big F'ing Mech with Howitzers.
Let me ask who shares the following sentiment:
When I get shaked by an AC20 my 1st thought is an angry "who did that?!".
When I hear that pling pling MG sound, my 1st thought is "OMG I an going to die".
Shouldn't that be reversed?
