I’d be fine if all of those were deleted from the game, together with the entire 20-25 tonnage range.
Since I got Flea pack, I played those pests a lot and was starting to think there could be something true in"Flea OP" claims. In fact, my Flea stats were pretty damn high compared to a lot of other lights I piloted before.
So I switched to some other light and light-alike mechs for a spin recently. I piloted
Kit Fox Purifier (30t),
Osiris OSR-2V (30t),
Mist Lynx MLX-G (25t),
Cicada The X-5 (40t). That's what I discovered: either I'm gravitating towards becoming a proper good light-main or lurm-potato levels around are increasing gradually. My recent performance with Osiris was very close to that of when I was piloting Flea FLE-17. Cicada X-5 worked admirably with the playstyle identical to some Flea builds (and it is Division 7 mech). Kit Fox was less killy but average match score was nuts (and W/L was the same as for Fleas). Mist Lynx demonstrated that 1) it is a very good mech, that just performs 2) I don't like MGs and feel more comfortable when less facetime required to deal meaningful damage.
IE: Flea is just another good light mech which performs admirably, yes. Still, the results could be replicated by using any other harasser mech, which is not garbage tier.
If you remove 20-25t mechs from the game, then 30t will be your No1 nemesis. With all lights deleted, you will suffer from Assassins, Vulcans, Vipers, Cicadas, Arctic Wolves (all 40t mechs are awesome IMO :} ). With these deleted there will be "OP, plz nerf" Phoenix Hawks, Uziels (6xMPL UZL-6P <3 ), Wolverine WVR-7D (yeah, with MASC), kiting Fridges, Shadow Cats, and suddenly scary Black Lanners and Linebackers.

Biggest issue with the Piranhas that annoys the hell out of me personally, is the good ol' PIR-1 and its 12 no-heat buzzsaw projectors called Clan Machineguns. they produce no heat and simply require ammo to function. When i'm driving any other light, one of these little freaks runs up and starts spewing tinkle-tinkle spray all over my mechs legs, which invariably causes them to fall off.
For light vs light situation MG Piranha is the worst of the bunch, unless the opposing light mech lacks good pin-point and is slow as hell. I know very few pilots who are able to keep firing MGs at specific components constantly vs agile light piloted by a good player. If opposing light is able to deny LoS/Range/Elevation for any meaningful time and can aim - PIR-1 is a toast.
As some people here already said, laser Piranhas are actually more versatile (and are much stronger for light vs light situation).
