Unless you're part of the UK, "colors" is misspelled in the thread OP.
Pretty sure Canada uses rationalized spelling instead of having the extra "U"s, "Gaol" for "Jail," etc.

I expect them to have done their job since launch and all the money that people have poured into the game since the founders programme. But they have not instead the release a mech a month to milk more, maybe if they skip a mech and make a map it would be nice. Or fix faction play or even tech balance. They spend a year getting community feed back then decide to nerf a weapon that is only used on 3 mechs with a 90 point alpha. As for getting a job with EA i doubt they are scraping the bottom of the barrel yet.

Ok children, gather round, we are going to do something here called maths.
PGI have approximately 65 staff, lets say we pay them a very, very conservative 30k each, per year
so 65 X 30,000 = 1,950,000(yes nearly 2 million)

now lets put this into a language you all seem to understand so very well Mech packs
1 Mech pack will cost you 20(yes some cost less), so.
1,950,000 / 20 = 97,500

What does this tell us? It tells us PGI must sell almost 100,000 Mech packs each & every year to cover the wages for the staff alone & remember we have paid these people very little & they will probably die of starvation due to that. please don't forget that you are not forced to spend ANY money on the game, it's always YOUR choice.
Can you see where this is going yet?
Ok so we have(kind of) paid our staff for the year, what else do we have to pay for? Server costs, building rent, the bills for said building etc, etc.
Most folks who play free to play games don't realise what is going on behind the scenes & seem to think that these(small) games company's have all the money in the world to pander to their own very specific needs, PGI will have reasons for everything they do, not saying they are always the correct reasons but they are there. when it comes to balance, PGI are the ONLY! ones who have the relevant data to make an educated, non biased guess as to something working or not & even then, that data can be misleading due to trends in the game play ie, how the current meta is evolving, events etc. Someone can not gather enough data from 10 or 20 matches they played last weekend with Bert from Sesame Street, nor with 100 matches or 1000 matches, it
takes tens of thousands. Open your eyes people, there is a real world out there where your Mum's & Dad's don't pay for everything.
& before someone has a go at me this is not me being pissed at tacorodwarrior, It's the community's attitude in general

lol In Fairness Doktorbike you do make a good argument and just for the record it did not come across in any way as a personal attack on me, just a counter point to my statement.

Saying that PGI have much more forms of revenue than Mech packs. IE the store, Premium time, War horns, Paints, Decals, Cbills for MC, mech bays etc etc. What i do hate is that it never seems like the left hand knows what the right hand is doing. They have a sale, 24 hours later they put it on the front page. There is a patch released, a day after the patch comes out, they put up the patch notes. If they had of concentrated on fixing the game rather than milking people then they would have a much larger customer base to draw money from. They have a very loyal customer base and possibly the best one, it's a community of collectors. If they want to monetize the game better why not offer to upgrade any chassis to a hero status I.E. give it a +30% cbill bonus (nothing else just the Cbill bonus) for 3000 MC (or 300 or whatever)? I know plenty of people that would spend money on that we all have a favorite mech that we use for FP like a Warhammer 6D but you can only get that in a Champion. I would prefer the cbills over the XP. You see the Fortnite dances every kid in the world are doing at the moment Sell a mech dance at the evd of a solaris game for 100MC (100MC to see your Anni do the can can at the end of every victorious game YES PLEASE) just stupid things that have no impact on game play but people would like.

They make a change to the game and do not even announce it. Like the recent change to the destruction of a side torso no longer gives you the damage from the attached arm destruction, I do not care but Jesus let people know if you change the way the game plays. 20 words in a post will not kill anyone.

If you go to Youtube and look at the game in CLOSED BETA it looks better then, than it does now. Look at the laser damage making the mechs glow (yes they still glow but not as intense) look at the component destruction and the beautiful explosion. What ever happened to the IGN news flash they used to do? They set out with intentions of a good game with Lore and what not, now its just an update after the event and do you want to buy a mech pack.

No maps for 2 years at one stage. Release the required info for maps let the community make a map and submit it back to PGI for testing if it is ok PGI makes a tweak or 2 and releases it for 1% of the cost of them making a map. A simple step in the right direction for Faction play, If two teams are in lobby have the pre-made team attack the siege map instead of giving them an even more boring game and having to defend it. If it is two pre-made then fair enough it is the one with the smaller group gets to defend it or something. Good lord i could continue with small changes and tweaks all day that would make quality of life easier and make more money for them.

Be nice if you could buy them all for CB... even if it cost 14m or something ridiculous... just saying.

I always think the same, something between 10-15 million. A way of keeping the MC price a reasonable option and at the same time taming the c-bill economy.

Yep, pretty much this. As much as some of the arguments of this taco guy make sense, the truth is that we get a LOT of MC just for playing. In a F2P model like this we might think of it as being paid for giving the paying customers "content" to play against. I am RL poor and still I bought 2 colors and a Deathstrike hero in the last couple of months just with the MC prizes we get.
PGI might do a ton of things wrong but they are quite generous with the free portion of their player-base and they don't milk anyone. You can opt out of every single offer and sale they do and still play completely unimpaired.

There are actually "Basic" colors that can be purchased for c-bills. They cost 1,25 million c-bills when not on sale and 625000 c-bills on a -50% sale.

Canada doesn't speak. Canada exists.
Canada doesn't use keyboards, for it has no hands. Canada may, but probably doesn't, produce keyboards.

Canada is a country.

So obviously my point is very obsure, and I will need to explain it further. What I mean, people speak and write. Not the country, not the goverment, not the state, not the land the word represents.

People come from different backgrounds. In Canada in particular. So many of Canadians, could actually come from Britain. Or England. Or France. Or Canada, but having to learn English as second language.

So have at this. It's bloody official. Canadians can't make up their minds about to use color or colour. They use both.

https://www.canada.c...-8&wb-srch-sub=

But clearly, colour is winning. Wuhuu.

Normally 1,250,000 in Cbills each, half off currently 625,000 times that by 5 = 3,125,000 if I did my math correctly.

I'm sorry what part of my post even remotely suggested I am unaware of the basic line? I thought it was quite obvious we were discussing the MC ones. The game is quite unwelcoming to noobs in general but anyone who spent a couple minutes browsing the UI knows about those basic colors.

Meh, their post in response to you is funny. Either they failed to look at your User Profile Info, or they were not understanding you meant only the (MC), or they were just sharing the knowledge for all those newbies and/or noobs (which aren't newbies) who had not taken a look around yet. Any which way, it's still a fun moment in forums reading. :D

Getting back to the discussion, I've taken a look around. Most of anything I might want costs more (MC) than I can spare right now. Still weighing if there might be one of those 250 (MC) ones that I might want. So little time to think... Dang. :(
