Otherwise, I'm assuming you tried to use lasers or even missiles on it? Don't. MG spam is what ACH exists for today.

It used to be hated because:
1. It originally had quirks (now long gone).
2. The Clan SPL used to be beastmode (now just a shadow of its former self, right on the edge of being average).

I've never really found its hitboxes to be that great while shooting at it, but that could just be because of how low its health is (the best hitboxes in the world don't matter if any papercut can still rip off a limb). In particular the arms (where the majority of the firepower lies) are super easy to blast off.

I don't get the numbers in a AC I do in a Wolfhound but I find it to be a fun machine, to each their own.

As an Assault pilot I'm far more concerned about accidentally plodding into a kill zone than of any Light 'Mech. They're usually a nuisance at best. Lights are quite hard to pilot, and while they are deadly at the hands of a good pilot, that pilot would also be deadly in something far scarier - like a MC MK II or the Heavy Gauss Annihilator your team forgot to call out.

I was being sarcastic. The light mech class as a whole is in dire need of help. And you are right, a good light pilot would be even more deadlier in a higher weight class

There are a lot of things you have to be aware of such as:
1. Your position relative to team mates.
2. Position of any encountered enemies and their possible movement.
3. Nearest cover to dodge incoming fire or high ground where dual guass sniper could be.
4. Heat and damage sub-stained to decide if you want to risk prolonged engaging an enemy.
5. What types of anti-light load outs mechs might have. You won't find any smart light pilot going up against a streak boat when they can go after some thing else letting other team mates deal with the ssrm boat.
6. Your engine type and open armor. IS XLs mean you won't go Rambo as much as an lfe or clan engine.
Having used most of the IS lights and preferring IS lights to clan lights I found the trial ach way to easy even with no skills or a custom load out. Being so use to IS XL the ach was just going god mode. I found getting damage and kills were a ton easier than all the work I have to do in mechs like the spider, panther or jenner. Quite simply the ach bored me as a no challenge insta win mech so I went back to my IS lights where I have to work for my kills and wins.
I've fought many achs and ones with good pilots are a pain to duel. Depending on my mech's load out and condition I'm just as likely to avoid the ach as much as engage one. When my mech is fresh in a build I know I can either heavily damage or kill the ach I actively hunt them. Any light mech with a good pilot in it that knows how to use the mech and equipped load out should be just as hard to fight as any heavy or assault with a competent pilot.
