

Can We Just Delete Escort?

Please, just remove escort. It does nothing but make me want to vomit a little every time I get back into MWO.

The only way either game mode would be "acceptable" is if we could select/de-select which game modes we wanted to participate in again.
You know, like we could until PGI realized that no one wanted to play their precious new games so they simply took away the option of avoiding them.

Is the game mode perfect? No. Far from it. But it's different enough to make it interesting (for me).
Personally, skirmish is boring af because there's no objective. You might as well be playing CSGO or PUBG if you just want to skirmish.
Conquest is interesting because you can win even if your team is wiped out, if you played the resource objective.
Domination is boring because it's just "Oi! We fight here!".
Assault is meh because of how rarely the objective is played.
Incursion is interesting but needs work. Right now it's just "skirmish and then skin one building in the enemy base".
Improvements to the path-finding algorithms to avoid getting suck would be great.
Making the VIP faster (even as little as 10kph faster) would make it better.
Reducing the armor (in exchange for the faster travel) would make it better.
The turrets don't hit CT with 100% accuracy. If they're hitting your CT it's because you're standing still and facetanking them.
If you pay even a little bit of attention to where the VIP travels (from either side), it becomes relatively easy to figure out the two or three places the VIP should be able to be found.
If you pay even a little bit of attention to what the winning team did, it becomes relatively easy to figure out what to do to count them. Example: in Grim Plexus, control of G5 through G7 (and the flags in there) gives you a much higher chance of victory than fapping around waiting for the other team to control them.
As with every other game mode, teamwork and constructive communication will give you an edge. Whining about how much you hate Escort and why would anyone pick Escort will predispose you to (a) not paying attention to how the game mode functions; (

They have always been absolutely terrified at handing over objective based control over to players......well any control what so ever actually. I always thought a game mode with multiple objectives to win, which are voted on at the start of the match by each side, meaning both sides could have different victory goals.
We don't get nice things.

the problem is that putting control of the VIP in the hands of a terrible player (which MWO has no shortage of) would have a similar impact to someone deliberately griefing. there's a very good reason why you rarely see things like this in multiplayer games.
