Lights piloting is about maximizing the lights strengths and minimizing it weaknesses. Seen many games were a clever light pilot dose this and comes out on top when they shouldn't.

I'm not saying they can't do well or be effective. You can do well and be effective in almost anything. I'm saying if I had to choose a mech to max my winrate or matchscore, it would be an assault.

For me, it all boils down to

1. Some lights are too hard to kill. They should be made of glass.

2. Streaks became ineffective. 4xStreak6 should INSTAKILL the lighter mechs. Instead, it takes 4x4xStreak6 to kill a Piranha. The "anti-light" weapon was nerfed. Even SRM4 are more effective against lights currently.

Why should a weapon that aims for the user be the counter to the class that's core gameplay consists of maneuverability and speed?

Don't forget the part about them being the lowest performing and used class too. The one class in the game that has a full on counter to its most used style is the class that needs a counter the least. This is what I keep waiting for somebody to give a good answer for. "But but, its supposed to be anti-light!" Okay, but why though???

A well played mech, no matter what it’s weight class, will be dangerous. A well played light mech will both manweuver well, and hit its target. A not so well played light mech (me, for example), will do either, but usually not both, at least not consistently, imo.

Good hunting,

Counterpoint; A Shittily played streakboat will hit most targets it is able to lock with barely any effort from the user. Whereas as light mechs being the least used worst performing class require considerable effort to play well.

Because a well-played light can dance around and back stab assaults and heavys taking tons much greater than them off the board with a few well placed alphas (4 medium pulse on my TDK), hit mediums with the same power and have the best armor (speed), and can chase other lights. They can call out the fringes and get from one side of the firing line to the next and, if need be, jump over the crest and make it back alive while causing confusion and delay.

Yup if you let me get behind you in my back stabber Firestarter https://mech.nav-alp...#b9a1451f_FS9-A your assault mech your going to die really really fast. Did that to some poor Kodiak the other day poor bugger got his back ripped out in 10 seconds.

OP seems to be suffering from a severe lack of awareness, which explains why he keeps getting killed by lights all the time.

Its pretty funny when you get assault mech unaware on it own they are easy meat for a good light pilot.

You're absolutely right. If only the OP's fixed his severe, obvious, and pronounced lack of awareness he wouldn't be absolutely getting owned by lights right? If only he'd buckle down and listen to the pro's he'd pull up those ridiculous stats he has and maybe be an effective team mate by achieving a more reasonable kdr like around 20.

Instead he's not even able to crack 5 lifetime! WHAT A NOOB.
