Nice, PTS wiped out my user setting for my normal version of the game too, what a great feature that is.

Are you sure it wasn't the repair tool you ran? Most games with repair tool will reset user settings. The one of MWO has the unusual feature that it can be told not to. Most others don't have the option.

Well, I conducted the test. Don't know if I'm in the right place to post results, but I'll give my feedback here.

Gauss Rifle- I don't mind. It's really not too big an issue for me; the shake was at a minimal enough level that it didn't impact things too much.

Large Lasers- Those are... less alright, but I do like that you can now fire 3 before Ghost Heat kicks in. I ran a stock Supernova 1, and now had access to all three lasers on each arm, leading to higher damage in my run of that. That said, some builds suffer more than others, of course, but the stuff is... passable.

Medium Lasers- This is where the problems start to kick in. Clan Medium Lasers are essentially gutted to laser pointers; the only success I had with them was a Nova, and that's because it boats so many of them. Specifically, tested the Alt Config H (10 Heavy Meds) and that did reasonably well, but every time I fired I was melting my mech, and this was on Frozen City. A boost to the number you can equip would help it greatly to stay viable, otherwise there's no point to equip them for anything.

Small Lasers- I did not test these out. I have seen other members of my team struggle to use them at all, however. The Small Laser officially has become something you take when you have literally nothing else to equip, counting armor and ammo. It's basically a TAG that does slightly more damage. An up to the damage is needed.

Overall, the big problems come with any laser lower than Large; the values are simply not viable in any game, and I'm a Tier Five and can see that clearly. You need to buff some aspect of the Mediums and Smalls, or you're going to lose a lot of players. On the bright side, you just sold me a Supernova. XD

Look on the first page on the comments, that works for the steam version too. Copy from <steamfolder>/SteamApps/common/MechWarrior Online. The rest should work as Rhialto described

The following files show mismatches or are missing and will be downloaded:

-bin64\cryrenderd3d11.dll
-bin64\cryrenderd3d9.dll
-bin64\mwoclient.exe
-build_info.xml
-game\gamedata.pak
-game\mechs\jenneriic.pak
-game_version.dll
-system.cfg

I just noticed that - Why is the jenneriic-pak in there? Turns out, in the PTS-version, the iic-a and iic-2 files have a 4-point increase to CT hitpoints for whatever reason.

Since the entire point is to test their viability against ALL mechs, no. someone's got to be the control group.

I enjoyed being in the control group with my 2xLBX10 4xERML K2.

Wow, My Mech selection screen images are all screwed up. I have a Thunderbolt in a MDD slot, A Kit Fox in a Hellbringer slot, 2 Summoners in MadCat MKII slots, a Huntsman in a Kit Fox slot. When you click on them the right Mech is selected but you cannot tell what you will get from the images. there are images for Mechs that I do not even own like the Hunchback that is in the Uziel spot. LOL. Maybe I better try a restart.

Exit the Public Test client.

Take the icons located here:
C:\Users\YourUserName\Saved Games\MechWarrior Online\UI\MechIcons

And copy them here:
C:\Users\YourUserName\Saved Games\MWO PublicTest\UI\MechIcons

When the files are transferred, restart the Public Test and enjoy your icons from the Live MWO server.

Profiles, mech icons, logs, etc. are stored in separate locations for Public Test and the Live server version of MWO.

Exit the Public Test client.

Navigate to the following folder:
C:\Users\YourUserName\Saved Games\MechWarrior Online\Profiles

Copy the desired MWO player profile to the following folder:
C:\Users\YourUserName\Saved Games\MWO PublicTest\Profiles

When the files are transferred, restart the Public Test server and all your user profile settings, keyboard settings, and mech weapon groups will be ready to use.

Question re the reward: it was claimable on the test server (or the cbills were anyway), but when would we get it in the regular game? After the session is over?

I also unchecked that option but it still wiped out my customized keyboard layout.
Made for fun during QP when I pressed my usual arty strike button ..and ..nothing! lol

On page 1 it says:

"will receive the following prizes to their live client account on Tuesday July 17th, on Patch Day:"

Anyone else finding these 4v4 QP matches often end with winning side only loosing 0 or 1 mech.
Roughly three quarters of the time??

Just a heads up to folks who haven't been in it yet... Don't bother trying to treat the PTS like an actual PTS. It's being trolled with lrms. Not even running clan mechs, they're running IS since now IS easily stomps Clan.

So just run something IS, get your 50 match score, die and go to next match. They're not real matches, don't waste your time feeding the trolls trying to sit there for 10 minutes hiding and farming damage or whatever they think they're doing.

I trolled for few games using LRM Spirit Bear, but then tested lasers and gauss rest. One game on Therma no one did any damage, cap vs cap, few players tried to go defend but the cappers won.

Yeah it seems a lot more LRMs than normal, I could understand some test few LRM builds they don't have on live server, but so many.

The only mechs and weapons that should even load in the PTS are the ones PGI is trying to get data and input on.

Jenner IICs are bugged in live version, can't take full arm armor if you have armor nodes.

^Correct. On the arms you're limited to 18 points. Or at least that's the issue I'm experiencing.

Messed with a few tried and tested builds, played a few drops; you may as well dump Clan and only have IS, go back 50 - 75 years and pretend the invasion never happened! The whole flavour of Clan v IS has just about vanished, all the additional costs of the Clan mechs wiped out in this "nanny state" approach to ruining the whole aspect of superior technology that came at a price - the price is now too high.

Throwing in a few basic rewards to sweeten the deal a little is no recompense or excuse for killing a game off.
