Public Test Session - Alpha Balance Series

Greetings 'MechWarriors!

The Alpha Balance Series PTS is now live! You can checkout the details and how to access it by clicking HERE.

Rewards

To thank you for your time and feedback, we've set up a special reward for your participation in this Public Test Session.

All players who have played at least 10 matches with minimum of 50 Match Score on the PTS client this weekend will receive the following prizes to their live client account on Tuesday July 17th, on Patch Day:

- 2,000,000 C-Bills

- A new unique Warhorn: Cicada Bug

Note: An Event page will be posted here shortly to track your number of matches with the requirement on PTS.

There is an event active INGAME on the PTS which will allow you to track your eligibility for the rewards.

The Rewards will be added to your Live account after the Patch on July 17th

Update: There was an issues with the in-game PTS event tracker where any matches completed before approx. 5:15PM PDT were not tracked. However do not worry, we will still account for those matches prior to that time at the end of the PTS and you will still receive your rewards if you've completed the 10 matches.

Pro tip:
Has it been a while since you updated your Public Test Build? Instead of patching normally, you can run the MWO Repair tool to copy files from your main MWO build, saving on patching and downloading time. Just make sure the option to "Try to fetch files from other MWO installs on this computer" is enabled in the Repair Tool.

Yes, PTS with rewards!

Sometimes PGI does listen, weil, kind of (how many PTS sessions did we have so far? Without any reward?)

If you want to save TIME and/or BANDWIDTH I suggest this:

Copy content of MechWarrior Online folder in MWO Public Test folder

Run the MWO Repair Tool and you should get this:

The following files show mismatches or are missing and will be downloaded:

-bin64\cryrenderd3d11.dll
-bin64\cryrenderd3d9.dll
-bin64\mwoclient.exe
-build_info.xml
-game\gamedata.pak
-game\mechs\jenneriic.pak
-game_version.dll
-system.cfg

Any files downloaded for the FE will be cleaned.

The shader cache will be cleaned out.

Scan complete

Less than 2 minutes and you're good to go!

Nice, PTS for changes is good and a reward is good.

Suggest adding 500MC for 25 matches in the future, more data = better data.

Thanks for incentivizing testing!

I would say that while a unique warhorn is cool, having "medals" on our website profiles would be also nice so that in discussions we can see who really participated in any given pts and who is just talking crap w/o actually trying...

I maintain that its pretty easy to tell without any data that this change is way overboard. But alright ill play 10 matches for my free stuff. Hopefully ill get to keep it and this patch concept will get tossed into the dirt.

I decided to try a pir-3 with 6 er smalls. actually runs nice and cool.

I dropped with a Raven, a Centurion and a Hellbringer.... 180 tons

against a Direwolf a MarauderIIC, an Ebon Jaguar and a Sunspider - 320 tons

seriously...wtf.

Wow, My Mech selection screen images are all screwed up. I have a Thunderbolt in a MDD slot, A Kit Fox in a Hellbringer slot, 2 Summoners in MadCat MKII slots, a Huntsman in a Kit Fox slot. When you click on them the right Mech is selected but you cannot tell what you will get from the images. there are images for Mechs that I do not even own like the Hunchback that is in the Uziel spot. LOL. Maybe I better try a restart.

That I've seen before and will likely go away once you modify the build.
