Yes.....it is. But, not the way many think and that's what worries me.........

So, corporations of all types are fighting back or, they go out of business.

I'm at work now.. but on my home computer, have literally dozens of end-match screens featuring either myself or my Fiancee with solo kills and KMDDs while LRM boating..

Only this last weekend, I was on Canyon, playing in a LRM Highlander, on the PTS.. So 4 Vs 4.. I had 4 KMDDs.. and a Solo kill..

Right after, bought a Scorch on sale.. made a LRM80+2CMPL LRM boat.. first drop, unskilled.. 3 solo kills and 5 KMDDs..

Don't assume..

Just to prove I'm not all show and no go..

Backing up words with actual match result screens:

Mah Timberwolf LRM60+4ERmed:

Mah new Scorch, first drop, LRM80+2xCMPL:

And just so you guys don't say "sure, it's all on Polar" - Mah Warhawk LRM70+4ERMED on HPG.

These are all last week or something like that I think..

Nobody is doubting you can pull stupid high damage with LRM's. The problem is that they are dramatically inconsistent. Don't pretend that those games are "average" for you, your stats are public. You have 2133 games played with an average match score of 263. Half of your damage becomes match score. So assuming your damage is the only thing you did to get match score (it isn't, but this gives us a nice max) your maximum average damage per game is 263x2, or 526. These games are then extreme outliers and prove nothing other than you like to have a **** at your high damage games. You wanna brag about high damage LRM games? Get a number at least worth bragging about, here's 1700 in a mauler : https://imgur.com/a/uPr2pvo

The mauler game above required zero skill. I ran around in a circle (staying next to my team) pressing my skill button when my potato chuckers were off cooldown. It was disgustingly easy. But on some maps and game modes I'm completely useless. It's entirely random, depending on the map, quality of your team, and quality of your opponents. Zero effort required, zero skill required.

I never said that it was average, or every match.. but it's not uncommon.. not for me at least..

And BTW your assessment of my public stats are incorrect in this case, because yes, I have average of about 500-ish damage.. but that includes me playing LRM Assaults and stealth lights, and skilling up new mechs, and trying new builds.. So that average number is completely irrelevant when we're talking about LRMs...

I'm not the best, not by a long shot.. quite average actually..

That alone, should tell you about LRMs and what they can do..

That's my whole point.

P.S.

There is nobody in the game that can pull THAT off consistently, no player, no weapon system.. If there is anyone who claims they can, I call hacks :P

You should check out the top 100 players on Jarl's if you don't think peeps can consistently get high damage/match score.

Or if you don't trust it just start sorting the official leaderboard by matchscore.

Yeah man, you throw up big numbers some times. You also spend a lot of time hiding in the back, which is how you get those numbers. Stop pretending.

I once saw an Atlas just suicide into the enemy team all by himself and then spend the rest of the game complaining about how bad of a team we were even though we proceeded to roll the enemy 1:12 without him. Some people are just that dumb.

too bad, he could have turned that into "good win, my sacrifice play early on [gave you guys the time to position to wear them down/distracted them while you focused the big threats/etc], though I could have used the backup to mow through them but wins"

That's how I go for it if I try to push one way, only to see my team suddenly run off in the other direction... I'll just try and make the biggest distraction I can, and wish my team luck. Usually they all die, but sometimes losing an assault really early is enough to make them shape up.

Then again, I have gone and put myself horribly out of position... Those I definitely don't blame my team for.

I heartily believe in what I've seen you do in every match I've ever had with you or against you.

It's ******* aggravating that you think sandbagging your teammates is appropriate behavior in a teamplay game.

Edit: I don't think all LRMboaters suck, I don't even think you suck. But your attitude and the frequency at which you sandbag people on your own team for higher numbers to prove a point sure does.

You DO realize that most of the "sandbagging" I do makes your kills easier?

You DO realize how artillery works don't you?

Lurm boats in the rear make brawlers in the front live longer and healthier..

You really aren't making my experience as "easy" as you think you are.

I'm not trying to shame you dude, I've also seen you move up in direct fire mechs and take hits like a boss.

But you need to acknowledge there is a reason that you specifically inspire such vitriol from your team mates.

This isn't a war games simulator homey.

LOL, that's the craziest thing I've heard today....

You think that brawlers will live longer when the brawler locks a target close to him and you shoot your missiles into the brawlers back?

As soon as somebody locks an target the lurm boats will fire, regardless if there is a teammate right infront of the target...

I inspire vitriol cose' I speak up, won't change down to an medium Lurm boat or switch to a direct fire mech when commanded, and am tired of taking said abuse weather I do bad and get cought out of position, or I literally carry the team and have 700 more damage and a few kills more than the guy blaming me for the loss..

I may sometimes go a bit overboard, but I'm just tired of us Lurmers being the scapegoat on call and getting undeserved flack from T1 gods and people that started playing a week ago equally.. you know?

You know that isn't true.

Passive lrmboating is selfish play, and you know that.

Not saying it's all lurmers, but the majority I see just sit in the back somewhere like a turret while most everyone else try to make an effort to maneuver in and out of cover to take a shot while taking shots.

the fact that a lrm scorch is even remotely effective, under any circumstance, ever, is a pretty huge indicator that the state of coward lrm warrior is off the deep end.
