Pick Sensor tree either if I run LRM/ATM boat myself (for target retention) or ECM. I have raderp on couple of mechs IIRC, never noticed it helping even a little. Situations where I get lurm rain in LOS are 1 out of 100, usually it's me under UAV, Narc, some little bugger hiding and locking us, etc, etc. Maxed ECM do help against missile locks and even somewhat makes enemies pay less attention to you. Something that doesn't have flashing red square around it kinda gets shot at less often. In any case, best way to avoid being pummeled by missiles is get behind something tall and shutdown for a second, helps every time.
Although for the life of me, I have no idea why anyone would pick Seismic, while people claiming it to be legit wallhack. Firstly, in 12v12 moshpit you tend to have pretty solid idea about direction of the enemy. Secondly it works in hug distance and only blips something that moves. I had only one situation from my whole playtime when Seismic proved useful: we were 3v1, that one guy killed two of us, leaving me alive, I've seen direction he was coming, but even then, seeing him in dark and fog of the forest was possible only with Heat Vision, plus I had stealth, so guy literally had no chance. Other than that, could never have any reliable use out of it.
Picking anything other than Survival and Firepower happens on very few, quite niche mech builds. Maybe if those two trees didn't have uber flat buffs to your mech, one might consider picking something that gives extra utility, like Sensors f.e. Sadly, not the case...
