Not always true. Clan RACs weigh the same as I.S. but are more bulky not less in exchange for more range.

I really have a problem with such statements. In the area of technology, the entire second half of the 20th Century and the first two decades of the 21st can be partly summarized by this picture:

and now tubes come in a dip package. or those miniatureized tubes the russians use in their fighter jets because of their emp tolerance. i have a hunch were actually going to regress as a result of getting to the limit of how many transistors you can cram into a given die area. so quantum computers, mostly because their expensive cryogenic components, are going to bring us back to the 70s centralized mainframe paradigm. and we already do a great deal of that with cloud services on classic computers. the more things change the more they stay the same.
i like to say that the technology in battletech is roughly equivalent to the 1980s with a few exceptions where a vastly more advanced technology is in use but not very well understood, like kf drives, fusion reactors, neurohelmets, energy weapons, etc.

...what!?
ATMs LRMs and Streaks do not factor in pilot ability to deal damage(aside from a rudimentary"know your range" ) which is why ATMs need to exist as a mitigating factor that does not require piloting skill. On the other hand, if you are close enought and have speed, you can break locks by moving out of a hostiles front arc.

Yes. Yes, that is exactly how it works, otherwise the other is objectively better.
Sometimes the difference in power is made up in other areas, such the generally poor turn and twist rates of clan mechs.

Not really. The two techbases become more unique and diverse, but IS never figures out how to make their weapons weigh less or use less slots. Not without weakening performance where clan often even had higher performance. Not even in Dark Ages have the IS improved any of their existing tech. All they did was create more options.
The lore reason given is that clan tech is manufactured using materials and techniques unique to the factories of Strata Mechty and they were never shared, even when Clans set up shop in the IS. Eventually IS produced inferior approximations of Clan tech, whilst the Clans copied everything the IS pioneered but made general improvements. In short, unless PGI want to fundamentally change the lore of the game, they cannot nerf clan without simply breaking them.

While we're at it, i demand a stealth armor based Clan narcer. Oh, this is not the "make a wish thread"?
Hehe, i'd love me some stealth armor on my Arctic Cheetah. Altough my Kit Fox feels like it has stealth armor sometimes (aslong as i'm standing next to anything

So the fix for inbalance is for everyone to use whatever is currently OP. Got it.
So, the problem is that IS AMS is percieved as less good in QP than clan AMS. There's no restriction on what you want to play in QP though. The solution is to use what works for the role which you intend for it. Ok, IS doesn't have tripple AMS mechs. So use a Clan mech? Or would you rather have one mech of each weight class, with a standard configuration, so every mech you meet in the battle is the same? As mentioned in the post i quoted above, Clan doesn't have Stealth armor, but why would they need it though. If i'd want to play a mech with Stealth armor, i'll play the mech which has it, not complain that only one faction has it in the gamemode where you can pick whatever you want
