Always assuming anyone who calls for a nerf is piloting its victim, I present to you my favourite mech at the moment:
I say HGAUSS is OP because I exploit it, what I like the most is the sound Piranhas do when you connect.

So 55 damage at 460m range vs Death Strike's 80 (which also deals 52 damage at 760m). Cool story bruh.

All I observed was people playing stupidly to burn through their matches, grab their rewards and get out of there as quickly as possible.
I shudder to think what 'the data' is going to show...
Stand by for "The W key is OP, to achieve our Design Goal of increased TTK we are going to cut engine speeds in half so players will take longer to walk into the enemy guns."

Back to the newsflash at hand ...
Why didn´t PGI do the smart thing and make the PTU the "live" environment while putting "standard" environment to sleep for 7 days to get proper data ?
My guess is that they just don´t want PROPER DATA ?

Do you even math? HGauss range is 253/1035 meters (with 15% bonus from the skill tree). At 460m range 50 damage from dual HGauss drops to 36.76 and ERML from 5 to 4.44.
But in your case it's 50 damage total because for some reason you have just 3 ERMLs in your Sleipnir.
I'm not saying HGauss is crap, it's strong but only when your potato opponent doesn't use his range advantage.

Used my Sliphner almost every drop on the pts. Just dual hgauss. Had no isses closing distance to deal max damage. Had a few matches over 700 damage with it.
The range advantage only works if people dont close the gap. Otherwise its not that big of an issue.

... a year late, always at least one year too late...
How many months ago was it that Russ had tweeted that he had to rein in Chris's adjustments so that they did not hit all at the same time? I also do wonder if the first PTS was a lowballing effort meant to get things mixed up then allowing the next set of adjustments to be within range of his intended mark, plus/minus a few points.
Or to put it another way, what if PTS 1.1 had started off as 1.0? Would the feedback be as bitter?
I think the scary part though would be, what if PTS 1.0 had been PGI goal? Now that is frightening.
