You can read here the planets that are going to be fought over:
https://mwomercs.com...n-mini-campaign

Sooo, why on the map is it not glaringly obvious whats being fought over for an event?
More so, what "strategic importance" is each planet? Lets say below, Kurita cuts off the "supply lines" ? That should have an effect on the Davions...a meaningful effect, such as a small de-buff of some sort. Be it, broken heat capacity, smaller ammo per ton ect... something that simulates "cutting supply lines".

If you're going to build a campaign, even a mini, people need to understand what they are fighting for, other than just a reward(mc,cbills, trinkets) its "immersion", it helps people get into the game, thats what makes people get obsessed and passionate. Something as simple as drawing a line between each days planet, such to "plot a course" you don't do.

This among other things is why the game struggles so hard. You have such a small player base, you can get away with NOT following what other games do. Build a story, make people feel like they are doing something that contributes to the end goal...then you wouldn't have to bribe the eff out of people just to play your game.

I mean I get it you're trying, but 5 years later? You have to do better than this.

With that said, the event is still fun, so thank you...but just, a little bit more effort will go along way.

Also, i dunno how to edit my posts name for typo corrections....so I won't/cant/don't care to.

Agreed. Even a simple descriptions of the planets that are being fought over in FP, in the loading screen, woulda been nice. PGI only have to copy paste from Sarna.

No that would be bad design. Any side that has a power balance, or gets one, then would have gradually increasing power inbalance. Steamrolls as per battle basis is enough to, you don't want to have an campaing of ever increasing steamrolls, even if it's short one.

Those kind of campaings are fine in games where there is dynamic adjustment of balance.

I've been saying it basically since Closed beta - Immersion is important, and MWO is sorely lacking!

Alas..

Wanna buy a mech pack?

thats the biggest Problem from FP and thats since the Start of FP ...all the great Visions from PGI from the gamestart died (the Visioneers going to other companys?)...FP is senseless...no logistic ...no planets thats have each Function (Garrisons,Factorys for specially Mechchassies ,Ammunition ,Money)..no Jumproutes ,no wear ... every game starts with fully equipped brand new 'Mechs, there are never ammo problems (eg Factory Planet YZ is currently being held by the enemy 50% less LRM/ tonne or only 4 SRM per Team)

You seek MW5 good sir. Punishing the losers is never a good thing, especially in a MP environment... Slippery slopes are very slippery remember... :)

we fight in FP not for Planets , only for Maps with a Rejoin 30 Min QP ...Fractions must not split her Forces to hold planets or attack others , not Jumptimes (in this Time the jumping force is blocked for each action)...most Maps in FP stupid designed ...no AI elements (combined Warfare ) for garrisons...bigger units have more Troops tahts must more splitting in smaller units to hold all Planets and defense her or attack further ...smaller Units can recruits Mercenaries for stock up the own Troops or buy AI Garrison troops (a little like empire at war)

its not Punishing the loosers ,its a tactical and strategical note for a wargame with Campaign...FP in MWO lets miss the basical Elements like other Games with a Campaign Factor

And I've been reminding people constantly since Closed beta that this is an online shooter. If you want immersion and lore, play single player. If you expect lore and immersion from an online shooter, you don't know games very well.

You still haven't noticed you are playing an online multiplayer shooter with a free to play model have you? What you want is a single player or co-op game.

Campaign games like you describe have never worked in an online multiplayer context. Only exception is EVE, but then MWO needed to be structured exactly like it.
