Dude. The new drop zones on Domination do not work for FP. This follows from a general principal that the DZ's are planned for QP and don't always work out well for re-spawning in FP. But that H7 zone is like a really bad example of this. It is right in the action.

Yeah I'm not a fan of River City new domination zone at all.

It gives one team a pure map control advantage fromt he high ground in the airport where the opposition has basically nothing.

Very bad in QP and even worse in FP.

got stuck in that DZ, your basically 500m from the enemy when you drop. and you're in the open, with no cover.

when I first dropped, I was like waait .. the circle right there, cool . . but if you be destroyed . . fun gone, no more game

and changing Lance will just kill the one you swapped with, when they need to drop next mech.

but hey, now I know when someone on my team is disliked, AFK or DC, I know where to put them

Crimson Strait is pretty bad too if you're in the SE.

yep just had that, the H7 grid drop was farmed both times i had it tonight with that drop group going down super quick leaving it basically 12 v 8, everybody knows now, they just drive left side or snipe from the starport and you drop right in the open to be picked apart, stupid as hell really, how about 3 drop zones all right next to each other, easy peasy.

Huh my team actually got the airport side in one of my games but we were passive AF and didn't stop mechs from H7 moving into the city. Funny though for all my River City Domination matches I get the airport spawn. H7 spawn looks like absolute trash though, 1km away from the other spawns and so easily isolated. Also the circle on this map reminds me of the old Grim Plexus Circle which is relatively open and lacking of cover.

{shrugs} but getting nailed in the rear, especially in a med or light and nothing guard/blocking the shots, is very painful. Did not any one play the devil's advocate when or if there was any discussion on that new spawn point?

Agreed. After seeing one DZ getting overwhelmed near the zone within 5 to 10 secs, They need to either remove it temporarily till they go back to the drawing board and redo it or take that map out of Play for Domination only for Faction Play.

Did paul even look into this problem this problem before the podcast was done?

Yeah, I had a game the other day where I basically lost two mechs before they'd even hit the ground. Very bad place for a drop zone, unless you're on the other team. In which case it's pretty handy.

I wonder if the potential DZ artillery blitz would help this....

All spawn points? Or is there one in particular that is really bad?

No, the point is that the DZ is good for QP, but absolute **** for FP. We cannot have them copy & pasting data from QP into FP. Respawns fundamentally change how a map is played
