No kidding. It's been 14 hours since Faction Warfare broke. Come on guys, get this fixed. You really need to have someone able to monitor for problems on weekends.

Hello, everyone... I'm past-due by ~4 days for a Final Event Review & Rating... so here we go... :huh:

===== FINAL EVENT REVIEW =====

First off, I guess I should note my Previous Review @ https://mwomercs.com/forums/topic/268289-youre-invited/page__view__findpost__p__6150600... Now, after having referenced that, I'm going to note that an "8.7/10" was apparently too nice. Instead, I'm slamming the Event Review Rating down to a...

6.0/10

...because...
  • The various Battle Phases were far too short. There simply was NOT enough time for a proper Event-Level Conflict over various worlds to play out properly. Had each Phase run for at least 48 Hours, this wouldn't even be a topic of note. Due to the short Time Limits, the Tug-of-War Meter tended to keep flopping to one side simply because other players didn't get the time to answer back. Sure, there wasn't some special reward tied to it, but a lot of people would have been in an uproar if there had been. On top of that, and far more noteworthy, it made earning a place near-impossible to come by, which brings me to the next note...
  • Unit Tags would not score to Planets on Successful Defenses. Seriously, if a Unit who's defending pushes over the capture line, they should be getting their Unit Tag to show that they successfully defended the Contested Planets, and never let the enemy have the chance to take them. Effectively, the Defending Units are punished with remaining unrecognized. That's just simply not fair by any means, particularly when the Attacking Units can get recognized for a Successful Capture.
  • Connecting with the first item, while being a separate point of its' own, people with any sort of Real Life Commitments were placed in a situation where they were potentially forced to lose out on the Event. While I might have barely scraped by in collecting stuff this time, I do know that others ended up not having a chance on multiple days, if not the entire Event. Some of you might not care, but I can be reasonably certain that others did, and it's for them that I speak up. To hell with the callous people who would be cold to people who wanted to have a chance, for Large-Scale Events like these are meant to attract a large crowd of players, and therefore should provide reasonable chance to play and earn. This particular Event still did not.
  • Apparently during the Post-Event Period for a short while, during which I was over on the Public Test Server, Faction Warfare was left non-functional. Given the above complaints, that can't be overlooked. Breaking the game to the point that it's unusable is not healthy to the survival of MWO. More minus points here.
  • During the Event, someone @ PGI thought it was funny to interrupt things with a Monthly Patch where Game Mechanics were changed. This caused a complete difference in how teams had to work together and weapons functioned, which means the final outcome of all battles after the Monthly Patch were skewed. With there being people out there who were likely put out of the battle due to Medical Issues that prevent them from being able to track and move smoothly, making them depend on Lock-On Weapons like LRMs, the player base that was fighting was wrongfully altered. This is impossible to overlook, and results in a rather major hit to the Rating in its' own right.
...and there's probably a lot more I could say. Something deep under my mental hood is nagging me to hit the Event Review Rating even harder, but I'm trying to not listen to that. Let's not give me reason to get ticked off further, okay? I would rather PGI learn from this and make the Next Event even better than this one was 'swiss cheese'd into. <_<

EDIT :: One more thing before anyone tries to remark in regard to my post... This is being done with a Casual-Class Standpoint... Absolutely do NOT try to treat this by any means like a 'Competitive-Type Player's Review, as it is NOT! :angry:
