And what changed for atms? Its just are nearly a same IS lrms but with less volley per launcher and different arc. And ofc nothing changed for streaks because most time people use it in 200-250m.

Of course it will change. The purpose of a streakboat is to chase lights and it will be harder to achieve lock on a light running around point blank.

And that's yet another playstyle killed.

U cant hold locks in light in close range? Poor people. And as i say again: player base how are totally low skilled. #THXPGI

Yep, sounds good to me. I never used Artemis on my streak Blackjack and it always worked fine. It's good to see an exploit many years old finally fixed.

schadenfreude perhaps, but I think vindication is the better term.

So you can continue being a "Front line LRM user" and improve your aiming, you can continue to use streaks and improve your aiming with your buffs, and ATMs can still do amazing damage to CT with LOS at 300 meters. and with less time to react.

unless what's bothering you is the improve aiming circle, in which case I might need to tell you what those two words are.

I have been doing some digging and it looks like everyone before this patch believes that streaks gaining the bonus from Artemis is a bug. Is this true and if so aren't PGI just fixing a bug?

I did find it a little funny that a World Champion who took 1st place 2 years in a row managed to do consistently better in an LRM boat than any other mech. I wonder if actually aiming will be better than not exposing and not aiming again?

Yes but some people legit think that slight increase in lock on time and making lights harder to track will make them useless.

Who cried out for nerfs on Streaks and ATMs in the first place? Nobody.

So what's bothering me is not just a reduced locking circle, no. It's the nerfing of weapon systems that didn't NEED to be nerfed, a casualty of nerfing Artemis itself (affecting base ATM launchers) and LRMs since they all share the same lockon system. God forbid PGI find a way to deal with potato LRMers without wrecking other weapons at the same time, such as simply making Artemis require LoS as it should, etc etc.

Fixing the Artemis "double stack" is a good thing, NO argument there. Didn't make sense, but it's removal nonetheless makes Streakboats harder to play in the one role they have.

ATMs and Streaks needed a usability buff, while LRMs needed a usability nerf. This was just not the right way to go about it, it's just nerfs all around with a "lol here's 10% velocity" bone thrown in that doesn't account for much of anything at the end of the day.

So you knew that streaks and Artemis stacked when it wasn't supposed to, added an upgrade that didn't say it would effect your weapon, all of the forum posts and info we were given said streaks would not receive a benefit from Artemis, and yet now that the bug is being fixed and they're working the way they were supposed to with the only difference being that you have to aim now is that its a nerf?
If requiring someone to aim in order to one-shot a class of mech that is a pain in the *** to play (outside of the piranha) is a nerf, then I welcome it.

EDIT: A lot of people, myself included, agreed that ATMs were too accurate and did way too much damage for the risk required to use them. Not as good as LRMs, but still stronk.
