As it has appeared in past Mechwarrior games, would a FFA game mode with a drop deck and respawns be a good game mode? I feel as if it could help to bring the population back up and attract new players.

What say the community?

[For Clarity]

Proposal as follows:

Each player selects a dropdeck of 4 mechs to use during the FFA. FFA is timed (10, 20, 30 mins) and the player with the most kills at the end wins the round. rewards are performance based like usual with an additional prize for the winner.

PGI's programmers are unable to add more 'sides' to the game to allow for more than 2 enemy teams. While it wasn't made public knowledge, that was the sticking point as to why they were so quiet about free for all modes for Solaris when it was rolled out. The spaghetti code this game runs on is hideous.

I agree wholeheartedly. Unlimited respawns would be more fun to me.

Maybe a community push to upgrade the engine.
I'm confused as to how MWLL was able to do a free for all on the same engine?

[Edit] seems they used Cryengine 2.

Definitely a fair point. I disagree that PGI doesn't care, I feel as if there's just a big disconnect between the game and staff. Like they haven't played their own game In a long while. But I think it could be done and be hugely popular.

Also, sale of drop decks would actually take off as well.

Ffa last man standing game mode leads to extremely passive play because the most effective strategy would be to hide and preserve your mech for as long as possible.

Just wanna put this out there so you know what you're asking for.

Unless implemented on a small map, with a disqualifiction factor added in there. (I.e. no rewards, c-c-bill deductionso for non-participation) *give incentive to be an active player.*

i dont see that being an issue if the win requirement is most kills. if the win requirement is last man standing then yea you are going to get lethargic unfunned play.

Maybe I just haven't played Fortnite long enough, because I have yet to see this.

Winning via most kills sounds like farming. Last-player-standing is still my preference.

Either way would be a refreshing change to this game.

Isn't that the game with the ever-decreasing space in order ti force a fight? That doesn't seem to be transferable to mwo ffa.

War Robots recently added an FFA mode. This is respawns with a dropdeck, and after that, based on your ingame performance, you earn tickets that can be used to resurrect anyone of the mechs in your dropdeck. The FFA is limited to six players, the top three would advance in league rank while the bottom three would get some derank.

I have yet to see any passive play from this.

Because of the map size on MWO, you probably need way more players than six, and the ideal player size would have to be worked out with play testing.

Not if you let the respawns spawn close to each other.
