Why are most posted Youtube links always in the broken youtu.be format? I hate having to manually edit them every time. >_<

Clan Smoke Jaguar orbital attack on Edo at Turtle Bay in March 3050.

http://www.sarna.net...e_of_Turtle_Bay

Quote

Finally Galaxy Commander Perez ordered all Smoke Jaguar forces to withdraw from Edo, which the local resistance mistakenly took as a sign of victory. Perez ordered Beta Galaxy's WarShip, the Sabre Cat, into low orbit above the city and commanded it to open fire. Repeated strikes from the ship's autocannons and laser weapons bombarded the city until there was nothing left but smoking debris.

It will be us Jaguars vs the Draconis Combine.

Seyla!

Hmph... I look at all this, and still keep having a Pirate Faction come to mind. Where is your originality, people? :(

Hell, where's the Massive Ruined Metropolis (https://mwomercs.com/forums/topic/221827-new-map-metropolitan-ruins/) that everyone has looked forward to? I don't think that ever really happened.

Okay, just a short time after I posted that last, they put in the Final Update to their Lead-Up Posting. I am feeling VERY sad that they just decided to make an item that went with the normal stuff, instead of punching a new expansion into the game. Posted Image

ISN News (Update)- For Immediate Release:

The DCMS has released the following statement from the recently freed Hohiro Kurita II.

"Fellow citizens and those loyal to the Great House Kurita.  As many of you know, the planet Turtle Bay was taken by the hostile forces of Clan Smoke Jaguar.  While we maintained a strong level of resistance, the city of Edo fell under control of the Clans.  I was captured in their round-ups but apparently they did not know of my lineage.  With the help of resistance fighters and other underground contacts, I was recently freed from the city.

It is at this point that I must bring you the horrifying news of what has transpired in Edo.

An uprising revolt of Clan Smoke Jaguar occupation rose from the ashes of previous combat.  This uprising was fought bravely by those loyal to the DCMS and to House Kurita as a whole.  It was the loyalty in their hearts that allowed them to push the aggressors out of the city limits.  But this victory was short lived.  Not long after the withdrawal of Clan Smoke Jaguar forces from Edo, a massive war ship entered a low orbit over the city.  Its entire weapons array was used upon the city below, and to my horror, the city is now gone.  The devastation on the ground is none that we've ever seen in historical combat.  While I do not have the exact numbers of casualties, I can say with certainty that the death toll will be in the millions and the majority of those deaths are civilians.

I ask that everyone across the InnerSphere hold strong in the face of this atrocity and we of the DCMS along with any other allies that choose to stand by our side, will make the dishonorable Clan Smoke Jaguar pay for their actions ten fold!"

- Hohiro Kurita II

Oh well... I guess I might try looking forward to something more original at some future point? I don't know. Posted Image

This not the clan invasion, or the Jihad. This the start of Operation Bulldog. When the Inner Sphere combined efforts to wipe out Clan Smoke Jaguar.

Cuz one of the things some people told Paul that they wanted to see more of in his prospective revised FP is "more lore". And so within the confines of the mode as it currently exists, a .gif and a little write up and whalla: a "lore" based event.

Wasn't Turtle Bay nuked by the Jags during the invasion when the DCMS refused to tell the Jags how many mech battalions they possessed? If this is what this story entails then the followup to this will be Operation Bulldog and the annihilation of the Smoke Jaguars.

The Jaguars didn't nuke Edo. They wiped it out with a conventional weapon orbital bombardment. BattleTech space naval weapons are pretty powerful when used on ground targets.

With that being said, the aftermath of this genocidal act even disturbed Smoke Jaguar leadership. Galaxy Commander Cordera Perez, who ordered the orbital bombardment, was seen as disgraceful for the attack and had his command challenged in a typical Clan Trial by Combat. He ended up losing that trial and his command.
