New variants look good: MG Jav, JJ rifleman, ECM Warhammer, ECM Gyr, JJ Marauder is the weakest I think.

I am a fan of the picture of the rifleman having ac 5's instead of Rac 5's or did the rifleman not get a Civil War cosmetic update?

Nit picking aside. I am excited for all but the warhammer and marauder....simply because I am not a fan of using lasers Posted Image

That MAD-IIC is pathetic. You know what would have been a good Top-Tier Clan? Dire-Wolf C - ECM CT and Missile Arms. Not this reject.

Marauder IIc-2 and Warhammer 4L needs more hardpoints just because C-bill variants of Warhammer 6D and Marauder IIc-1 much better with energy hardpoints in high torso mounts

Yikes, JJs on the Marauder do not make up for the lack of ST hardpoints. I'd rather use my Supernovas

Honestly not that important to me, i'd probably just wing a HPPC on the single Torso Energy. key is to to think this way. If you have less hardpoints in an area, put bigger weapons on them. HPPC, quad ER meds and a MRM launcher'd probably be pretty solid on that Whammer.

Warhammer will be DOA not enough useful hardpoints. When I seen it was ECM i got excited. But the lack of a decent Ballistic mount means it can do little to anything using stealth as an option and with ECM it will have to expose fully to use 70% of its weapon loadout, compare that to the HBR on the clan side, or on the IS side you have much better options like the Tempest or the Thanatos

Also, to people complaining about number of hardpoints for some of these mechs, look at ShadowCat, horrible. But it can fit larger weapons instead of more smaller ones and you know what, it kicks ***! One of the most fun I've had in a mech. LPL, x2 SRM6A and x6 MG.

It's what I refer to as "ECM tax". A variant with the same hardpoints/quirks as non-ECM variants stands to outperform those, hence the ECM capability is compensated for with downgrades in other areas. PGI has been doing that for a while.

I like how you said that the shadow cat doesn't have that many hardpoints and gave us the build with 6 MGs afterwards XD

Well, the point is that they're unique in that the Warhammer gets ECM and the Marauder IIC2 is the standard variant with JJs and a bit more armor (though I agree that the IICB is outright superior to it, and PGI will cheap out and make its max armor the same as all the other MAD IICs).

Honestly, it's not the hardpoints that're the problem, really, it's stupid pilots that rely overmuch on specific weapon systems and whine when they don't exist on a particular variant. I'm assuming that guy earlier hates the fact it doesn't have a Ballistic Hardpoint because he wants to stay in Stealth Mode permanently, and anything else would cause his *** to overheat. Newsflash, stealth mode isn't supposed to be on permanently. Deal with it.

IS mechs are utter garbage. 6MG light? Clans have 12MG or 6MG AND 30pt small/micro/pulse/whatever laser alpha lights. Rifleman is an oversized chassis that can't even carry enough firepower, a glass cannon without cannon. Special variant or not it's crаp. Meanwhile clans get Night Gyr "hero", an omnimech, with the ECM omnipod on top. New Warhammer is mediocre at best and a heavy, clans get MAD IIC "hero", great chassis overall due to narrow front profile just not the best variant, although you'll be able to fire 2 HLL 5 ERML even with the heat cap nerf from the PTS and it has JJs unlike the prime variant, should be a decent c-bills grinder.

Give IS something decent, a 12E light, an ECM Marauder with decent hardpoints or a Battlemaster with 2E 1B STs.
